Had this on 2010-05-15 at the Mt Hope Brewfest in PA (from tasting notes)

A - Dark mahogany with a short tan head and some lacing.

S - Fairly mild hop floral and some sweet roasted grain.

T - Similar to the smell but with more of darker roasted grain flavor and a bit of chocolate. Dries out nicely.

M - Medium body and light-medium carbonation.

D - Lots of flavor for a lighter brew so more than one is doable.

A pint served at the Danville brewpub.

A: The porter is a dark, syrupy brown color that borders on black. It comes equipped with a finger of tan-colored head that laces in even strata as I gulp it.

S: The porter has plenty of roasted malts and chocolatey flavors to go around. The rich aroma seems more appropriate within the English porter family.

T: The porter is chewy, loaded with roasted flavors from first sip to last. Dark roasted flavors, toast and burnt malts, match caramel chcolate flavors. The body runs a little thin at times but generally it's robust flavors rule the day. If not for the strength of the porter, I think that it could pass for a dark mild ale any day of the week.

M: The porter has a resounding flavor, full from the first sip. A strong take on the porter style.

D: At 4.6%, the porter is ideal for sipping. A nice start to lunch at OFBC.

A-Rich, deep brown with ruby highlights and a thin tan head that reduced to a thin veil that left decent lace.

S-Nutty malt and earthy hops dominate up front. A pleasant, milky sweet, chocolate aroma in the background adds some depth and counterbalance to the malt/hop combo.

T-Fairly rich, dark roasted malt up front followed by a nice, earthy hop pop. Sweet chocolate in the dry finish.

M-Medium bodied and semi-rich with nice lingering bitterness and light chocolate sweetness.

D-Surprisingly rich and flavourful for what I would assume is a 5% ABV or less porter. I would not have a hard time putting back a few of these.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours brown with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, light smoked/burnt malts, light coffee, and a touch of brown ale character. Flavor is sweet initially with some roasted malt and light bitter chocolate. Light grassy hops, raisins, and light coffee notes also make their presence known as the beer warms. Pretty solid palate too. I'm impressed by this porter! Usually I find most attempts at a porter dull and much too sweet, but not this one!

On tap at Old Forge on 3/14/09.

A - Poured a sparsely carbonated, translucent cola-colored body with burgundy highlights and a slim tan head that receded to a thin film but laced up quite nicely.

S - Earthy and roasty aroma with a nutty malt character. Hop profile is predominantly characterized by herbal and earthy notes. There is also an underlying chocolate presence, giving the nose a bit of sweetness.

T - Dark roasted malt up front followed by a pretty aggressive hop bitterness, especially for a porter. Hops are primarily earthy, herbal and leafy, but are cooled off and sweetened up by plenty of chocolate flavor in the finish.

M - Medium body with a slightly oily texture and mild carbonation. Quite astringent and very bitter on the palate.

D - Very good porter that displays quite a hoppy character and lots of chocolatey flavor. Tasty and complex.
