Served on nitro, althought I tasted it from a growler. The body is a very deep brown with a creamy tan head that holds well and leaves some excellent lace. The aroma offers an interesting combination of currant, dark chocolate and deeply roasted coffee. The body is medium with a very fine carbonation that's quite smooth and creamy across the palate. The flavor mimics the nose with a soft fruitiness, mild chocolate, some nuttiness and a deep rostiness over a firm, wide bitterness. It's well balanced with a round malty sweetness upfront and a dry lingering bitterness in the finish. Another highly enjoyable beer from this often overlooked brewpub. Well done!

Poured black with a thin off-white head that falls. Some trailing lace sticks.

The smell is robust - high amount of roast - milk chocolate, coffee, toffee with a fruity touch in the back.

The taste is of creamy milk chocolate, coffee, toffee with a fruity touch in the back. Toast/roast rounds it out in a dry finish.

It has a smooth, creamy medium-to-full body with roast lingering on the palate.

Very drinkable - a very toasty/roasty interpretation of the style. Well-done!
