I'm kind of in an area that is devoid of any real consistent source of good microbrews so finding this place was a revelation. The place is small but the beers they offer are worthwhile, without a macro in the house(I retract that. They do have some in the cooler.)On my visits there I've consistently seen Lagunitas,Great Divide,Left Hand,The Lost Abbey,Victory,Bell's,Avery and Founder's products along with many other quality brewers. They have a small but well put together selection of German and Belgian beers. They also have a small selection of cold singles and on my last visit I saw a GI Bourbon County,a Great Divide Colette and a Lagunitas Maximus. They do offer mixed sixers and I think they are in the process of moving out alot of their current stock so they have some good deals going on right now.Service has always been great(friendly and knowledgeable). They are open to suggestions and they managed to hole away a few Devil Dancers for me just yesterday. As I said, the place is small but what they do,they do well. They also have a deli counter and I hear that their food is outstanding.I'm excited to see what Ian and the rest of the crew do over the next few months.

Went in today for the 1st time in 20 years, and was pleasantly surprised. The beer selection was great for the area, and WOW, did it smell good in there. They were gearing up for lunch and they had fresh bbq and wings...OH MAN. Didn't try any of the deli stuff though, only went in for BEER.
Picked up a Sam Adams Infinium, St. Bernardus ABT 12 bomber, and a few bottles of Founders misc. and some bells brown ale. Price was very comparable or better than anywhere I've been for the selections I chose.
I spoke with the (presumed) owner, he was busy but happily took the time to speak with me ans and answer some questions about specific beer availability.
Overall A+ and I will be back to try the deli.

For the area, this was a real surprise. Not much else in the area, and the real bonus was that the selection was made up of 300 singles and a few 750s.
This establishment meets many needs, as far as incorporating a deli and gourmet goods like morel cheese from WI, amish jelly, homemade pickles, jerky, etc. Full racks of ribs were very tempting, and the smoky bbq aroma carried outside before we even walked in. The place was family owned and had a friendly, homey vibe.
Pros: Great craft and import selection, deli, singles, good service, 10% discount on 6 or more beers.
Cons: High prices on imports, craft singles, not much craft/imports in the coolers.
Selection was pretty extensive, and organized loosely by style. Gems were Founders Double Trouble, Imp Stout, Backwoods, Hardys, Vitus, Mikkeller, Black Albert, a Finnish juniper beer I never heard of, Cuvee Rene, and others. Didn't see any dust, and dates seemed to be current. A staff person handed us an empty bottle carrier to hold beers. Prices were high on some things, which discouraged certain purchases. Mahrs Hell and Vitus for $6.29 was steep, more than in Chicago even. Overall 7 beers were $18. I'd return again when in the area, especially to stock up on specialty foods as well as great beers.

I finally remembered to stop by this place on my way out of Godfrey today and I'm glad I took the effort. They had a nice little selection going, and even some things I haven't seen at Corral yet (Bell's and Le Freak). So I was pretty happy to add another place to my arsenal of fairly local joints to pick up some good beer. All the beers seemed fresh, and up to date so quality was on point. The service was nice. I talked to at least 3 older people while I was in there asking me if I needed help with my beer etc. It was really friendly conversation and kind of nice. The selection is pretty good as I already said. They had most of their beers broken up so you could mix a 6 and you get 10% off when you do. There were a few beers in coolers and then 2 sides of an aisle loaded up with singles with some full six packs on bottom.
It was kind of an all in one gourmet store which I like. Fine cheese, a deli, gourmet soda, wine, craft beer, and nick nacky drinking accessories (like glassware with designs etc) were all available for purchase. It was a neat little store and I'll definitely keep it on my list of places to go when Corral is out (ahem, Bourbon County, ahem).

I added this store so I guess I should be the first to review it. Located directly across the street from my school I never knew what lay inside until my friends mom mentioned they sold "fancy" beer. Walked in and was utterly amazed. They have two island-like sets of shelves holding over 200 beers sitting individually and the bottoms of the shelves were lined with six packs. Each beer had an individual price tag and the lady working informed me you could make mixer-sixers and they take 10% off. Not an amazing deal but everything was fairly reasonably priced. I picked up a tripel from Flying Dog, an IPA and a Dirty Bastard Scotch ale from Founders, and a few others that were a little more obscure. Most bottles were in the 2.50 to 3.50 range and I think I spent around $15 on my six pack. I was fairly surprised to see that they had some limited reserve bottles from Rogue like the Double Dead Guy Ale. I'll be making a trip there this week because their "website"(actually a blog) announced they got an order of Founders Breakfast Stout. Definitely a place I recommend to all beer lovers I meet.
