Blue Star is one of my favorite "date night" places to go in Colorado Springs.

The atmosphere is fantastic: trendy and modern styles with great local artwork and dark with colorful lighting. The waitstaff are very professional. High on the hipster scale which is nice on special occasions.

Food: Very interesting and fun menu. We always sit in the bar area instead of the formal dinning room. The menus are different and the bar menu is alot cheaper!! The food is bistro style. Small apps. Good sized dinner portions.

Beer: Blue Star is right next to Bristol Brewery so they usually have 5-6 of their beers plus a few others on tap. They have a very nice bottle list of around 30 beers including Colorado selections. You will be paying twice as much for the bottled beers as you would at Coaltrains liquor store. They may have a half price bottle day during the week.

Overall, Excellent food and atmosphere. The prices are slightly high, but I think it's worth it. If you are in town to try Colorado Beer or local beer, this would not be my first choice. I do not consider Blue Star a beer bar. It is more of a trendy bistro with an OK tap selection of mostly Bristol's beers, good martinis, and a good wine list. If you like Blue Star, also try Nosh near downtown. Very similar in style. (1,294 characters)
