Watch Man IPA keeps the bitterness firm but in check, accented by floral and citrus notes from the hops.

Dark, clear amber body; dense, lively carbonation; thick, bone-white head, dense, sticky, rocky. Light caramel; mild spiciness with hints of red apple smell. Pleasant taste; light caramel with some spicy flavors. Medium-heavy body; a bit sticky and prickly on the palate.
This is a nice enough beer although it comes across a it plain and mundane in many respects.
Pouring temperature: 43 °F; canning info: Best by MAY 14 2024

12 oz. can, best by AUG 13, 2023. A new IPA and a new (to me) brewery. My first beer from Empyrean Brewing Company, and I think also my first beer from Nebraska.. These guys must just be starting to distribute to my area since the local Binny's had a ton of their stuff..
Poured to a Duvel tulip snifter.
A: Pours that nice classic burnt sienna orange IPA color that I love and long for these days. Strong big finger's worth of off-white head leaves good scattered lace.
S: Softer aroma, but reminiscent of a nice classic IPA: earthy, herbal, leafty, slightly piney.
T: Taste follows, lightly piney / herbal / bitter, but it never becomes overpowering or too much. Twiggy, herbal, earthy, with slight notes of berry. Another reviewer noted that this beer uses all Nebraska hops now, which is very cool indeed. Nicely balanced, notes of brown bread (Vienna malt?).
F: Smooth, crisp, clean, not overly bitter or dry finish. Nicely done, very easy-drinking. Nothing over the top or spectacular here, but a nice classical style American IPA, which is a bit of a rarity these days. Keep bringing back the classics! Looking forward to trying more from this brewery as well

This is a decent old school drinking IPA. Think Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Nothing fancy here, but it’s a solid well made pint. Uses all Nebraska hops now, so that’s cool. Enjoy it for what it is.

Pours a hazy, medium to dark golden color. Head has nice staying power. Smells more like a lager than an IPA, possibly due to the lower IBUs measured for this beer. The expected IPA bitterness comes through on the palate, but yields to a smooth, rounder, almost buttery finish. Yet it's the hops that linger after the first mouthful goes into your belly. A highly drinkable IPA. Got a softball tournament this weekend? Bring some of this along.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, there is no "best by" date that I could find.
APPEARANCE: pours a very dense, hazy, dark gold color with larger bits of sediment floating about, a one-finger off-white head with excellent retention and significant lacing on the glass, the head slowly dissipated until a thin broken layer of small bubbles remained, medium carbonation (i think?)
SMELL: very faint to the nose, some flowers and bread but not much else.
TASTE: initially sweet caramel then a nice light, citrus grapefruit note, the hops really linger in a good way, some spice.
PALATE: medium body and carbonation.
OVERALL: this is a good tasting beer and I would have it again, the smell is underwhelming but otherwise a very enjoyable beer, it's more of a citrus and flowers IPA and I really like the way it looked too, unfiltered with all the sediments present, I enjoyed this and would recommend to anyone who enjoys the IPA style.

Poured with 1/2 inch of frothy cream coloured head with a hazy depth of grapefruit below... sediment floats about (meh its just protein :D ) This smells like nothing??? Taste is light, but and under hopped ... this would make a good session ale. Watch Man IPA has a good feel about it .... perfect actually! Overall... A good beer to take with you to the lake.
