Not usually a fan of a red ale but this one is pretty good. Creamy tan head on a red amber brew. Malty aromas..but to me red ales usually don't have a very outstanding aroma but this is nice. Nice malty honey flavor with a chocolate finish. Really quite nice. Its smooth and has some nice all around flavor. Again. ...I usually don't like a red but this is nice.

Honestly, you can't ask any more out of this style of beer. It's labeled a Red Ale, which it completely is by every definition. Perfect in color, moderate head retention, mild in aroma, quite malty with a very slight hop character, and the mouthfeel is medium to light. This beer is extremely drinkable, and at a mere 4.7% certainly one that you can have a few of. The only downside is that this beer leaves you wanting a bigger beer with a little more to think about - but that's the style, not the beer itself. A very nicely done brew.

I really enjoy this beer. I've had it multiple times, and is my go-to selection when I go to the River Company.
It pours a nice rust brown color with about a one finger off-white head. The aroma is sweet, with no significant hint of hops. The taste is malty, with hints of chocolate and roasted malt. I can see how the taste may be a little sweet for some, but I really enjoy it, especially with a good steak.
