Thanks to slasher007 for sharing this growler.

Pours golden yellow with a white head. The aroma is lots of coriander and orange peel. The flavor is similar to the aroma with lots of orange peel and coriander as well as some spiciness from the rye which comes in during the aftertaste. A very juicy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. For a witbier, this one has tons of flavor.

Brief impression from a can:

Orange esters/fruity esters, citrus, faint hints of banana, light bubblegum phenol, wheat.

Soft if not weak. Smooth, wet, well-carbonated, medium-bodied. Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, or harsh.

Drinkable but underwhelming for a witbier. One would hope for more clove and lemon peel.

C+ / ABOVE AVERAGE

$ 8.62 (Including discount and tax)/six pack of 12 oz cans ($ 0.119/oz) at Spec’s, Live Oak, TX.
Packaged 051917. Stored at 42 degrees and served at 45 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Aroma – very spicy, coriander and rye. The coriander fades and some yeastiness comes to the forefront.
Head – small (Maximum 1.5 cm, aggressive pour), white, low density froth, rapidly diminishing to a partial ring of isolated bubbles and no head.
Lacing – none.
Body – medium yellow, hazy. Initially some effervescence but that quickly ends.
Flavor – spice is more subdued than the nose would initially indicate. There are neither malt nor hop flavors present, and the yeast phenolics and fruity esters typically associated with a wit beer are not noticeable. The predominant flavors are coriander, yeast, and rye. No alcohol and no diacetyl are found.
Palate – medium, watery, lively carbonation.

This is a tasty witbier, at least to me. The coriander and the rye complement each other quite nicely. A six-pack will be going home with me, and a can or two might be hitting the next NBS.

Appearance 3.5, Aroma 4, Flavor 4.25, Palate 4, Overall 4.

Pours a cloudy golden color with a thick foamy head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Strong rye aroma with wheat, citrus and maybe some coriander. The rye dominant, though. Strong rye taste at the beginning with some spiciness, followed by wheat and a crisper citrus finish. This is a pretty good beer. Starts off medium bodied but ends on a lighter note. Mild to moderate carbonation.
