look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4 | feel: 3 | overall: 4

Appearance: WIth the liquid a hazy amber color, the beer pours out with a huge head that takes a while to settle down; tons of lacey stickage but just a bit too much foam

Smell: Belgian yeast aromatics and grassy hops combine with toffee tones

Taste: A range of flavors hit the palate, up front, with the toffee malt, spicy yeast and grassy hops combining in the middle; the hops dominate the back end but the malt and yeast do not surrender in the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied but overcarbonated

Overall: I suspect the overcarbonation had to do with a bit of age on the bottle so this is likely to be much better when absolutely fresh; still, quite an impressive take on the style by the Freetail folks

Thanks, BeerHunter76, for the opportunity

Thanks to travita for sharing this growler.

The beer pours a golden yellow/orange color with a white head. The aroma is malty with some orange and hay. The flavor is malt, toffee, citrus hops, wheat and some yeast. Really a fairly complex IPA flavor profile. Thin-medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

A - pours up a gold amber. Clear with a dense , creamy head

S - Citrus and fruity aroma from the hops. Very appetizing.

T - nice malt backbone for an excellent blend of hops. Clean hop flavor with a hint of bitterness in the finish.

M - medium bodied with good carbonation.

D - easy drink IPA that reminds me West Coast IPAs. I had to buy a growler of it!

On tap at the brewpub, from notes.

A: Fluffy white head, very cloudy orange, great lacing

S: Sharp pine hops up front, biscuit, banana, pepper.

T: Sharp hop bite up front built on top sweet banana bread which comes forward with a little white pepper.

M: Tight, crisp and refreshing.

D: I could happily sip on one of these all day long. It's like a hugely hopped hefeweizen.

Coppery and mostly clear with a pretty chewy off white head and pretty decent lacing.

Pretty citrusy in the nose,, along with some yeastiness and a nice dose of hops.

Tastes very nice, Belgian yeast up front, nicely hopped in IPA fashion, but not overpowering in any one aspect. The ample malt backbone ties it all together.

Body is medium and yeasty on the finish. Carbonation is appropriate for the style and rounds out the beer.

It's a nice Belgian IPA. Freetail makes lots of great beer, so I'm not surprised that this one is pretty tasty too.

Thanks to duff247. 22oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

Pours a clear, dull copper with a huge, creamy off white head. The head reaches about a finger and a half and just stays at that height for the entire time it takes to drink the beer. The head is extremely impressive. It has amazing retention, possibly the best of any beer I've had. If the color were a bit brighter the appearance would be near perfect.

Huge orange notes lead the way in the nose. A good amount of citrus overall, but the orange really stands out. Some nice grassy and pine notes are here as well, but it's really about the citrus hops. Not a ton in the way of malt, at least in the nose.

The hops take on a fruitier flavor in the taste. The orange is still there but it's met with some nice malt character that balances each sip out. Definitely some grassy notes but none of the pine that was in the nose. There is a soft bitterness towards the finish.

Medium body with medium carbonation. The beer has a soft, creamy texture to it. There is a touch of bitterness at the finish but it's fleeting.

This is a very good IPA. It looks fantastic and the orange notes in the taste and the nose are excellent. At times it seems like it lacks depth but I think it's just a nice straightforward IPA with some unique flavors.

A - Poured out a hazy, golden amber color with an off-white, pillowy head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass.

S - It smelled floral and yeasty. Some burnt toast maltiness.

T - Odd. It was a little soapy and astringent. Old maybe? No date on bottle. Some spicy bitterness and caramel maltiness.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied ale with a dry finish.

O - I really can't figure out the soapy flavors. Again, maybe it was old.
