'11. Muchos gracias xpimptastikx

A: Mahogany brown with orange, cherry, and candied apple notes. High clarity. Barely any khaki head to speak of.

S: Quite a cornicopia of uniqueness going on here. Pine, musk, mint jelly, hickory, brown sugar, figs, early morning pastry bakery, cinnamon apple pie, candied apricots, just an insinuation of funk, and only on the secondary as detailed from the bottle. Makes for a very interesting presentation, there's nothing remotely like this combination of elements I've come across in a beer.

T: Pretty nuanced here- starts benign and rises sharply yet smoothly to a tart, funky zenith, sprinkled with jabs of brown sugar and belgian yeast built body that a merely whispers through the streamlined AWA end product. Very nice integration overall.

M: Fair enough- not very drying. low, yet persistent carbonation (which works very well given the maltier body), light on residual sugar, by no means cloying.

O: Interesting brew that I probably could have smelled all day and continued to come up with an inexhaustible list of things I thought I was smelling. Glad to try another excellent Freetail offering.

A rare one, let's make it an even ten. so-so sour. A sour aroma. The taste is cherry, its sour, but there was lots of plastic band aid. Fruity and ineteesting getting through that legitimate off-flavour of plastic band aid, according to that brewer dude i shared the bottle with.

big thanks to dave for sharing this at our last tasting!!

22oz bottle poured into a bruery snifter. 1 of 80 bottles.

pours out a murky reddish brown color with a small ring of off white head, didnt last long. no real lace or retention.

a very off aroma. big plastic and bandaid, thats about it...

wow, the taste is a huge turn around. pretty much no plastic or bandaid, lots of bretty sour pie cherry, tart with slight undertones of plum (fig) and a bit vinious.

medium bodied, quite tart and sour.

i was kind of perplexed by this beer. the aroma was really off, but the taste was really quite nice.

Poured into a tulip glass from a 22oz bottle. Thin lacing; just enough head. The aroma is very interesting... a balance of malt and barnyard; almost picking up some currant. Taste is great... not at all overdone with too much 'wild'; but enough to make it a really nice wild ale. I like this one!

Thanks to ericandersnavy for sharing this bottle. I am always happy to try a new sour from Freetail.

The beer pours a hazy orange-amber color with a large white head. The aroma has some nice fig notes, as well as some toffee and a light amount of tartness. A unique aroma that I have not experienced before.

The flavor has a lot of tart fig notes, as well as some sweetness from the brown sugar and some toffee malt. There is also a light vinegar component in the flavor. The fig notes blend very well with the sour and sweet notes and make this beer very enjoyable.

Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Thanks to Bobby for sharing this one.

Pours sort of murky dark amber in color with a small head. Intense fruit aroma. Tons of sweet figs, almost a bit like a Fig Newton. Some sweet malt is also present with only minimal to moderate tartness. A few other dark fruit aromas in there. The flavor doesn't quite live up to the pleasantness of the aroma, but still good. A bit simple and a bit sweet, not really much tartness. But, there still is some nice fig flavor.

A: ruby or garnet red, bubbles circling the edge, some sudsy lacing
S: dark cherries, dates, Fig Newtons
T: sour cherries, biscuity finish
M: sharp and crispy
O: had this on tap and didn't think much of it, but this one was fantastic out of the bottle. I'm going to let my other two age a bit.

poured from the tap into a tulip.

a: cloudy amber hue. slight, foamy white head. leaves some sticky lacing behind as it settles.

s: fermented raspberry, cherry, and just a hint of grainy wheat.

t: raspberry, raisin, and a little Italian spice.

m: sweet start, bitter finish. great balance.

d: mmm....

atmosphere is good. really nice cloudy amber hue with a fair head and some nice lacing. nose is simple but strong... fruity and sweet, but now cloying. flavor is nice and sour. not too sweet, not too biting. overall, this is a really good quaff.

Hazy tarnished copper with a sheet of khaki head. Sweet cherries, figs, oak and a little bit of funk to the nose. Nice transition in the taste from upfront sour to a malty fig and plum combo. I'm a big fan of the wine barrels they've been using and the oak it imparts. Tannic and pretty dry, but no palate fatigue.

Another good AWA from Freetail, and I hope they keep pumping out these little experiments.
