From our Single Hop IPA series. This India Pale Ale features Falconer’s Flight, a proprietary blend of some of the Pacific Northwest’s best hops, developed by Hopunion, LLC to honor and support the legacy of late Northwest brewing legend Glen Hay Falconer. Hopunion is contributing proceeds from each Falconer’s Flight purchase to the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation, which provides scholarships in brewing education. Many thanks to Hopunion and the Foundation for their continued support of American Craft Brewing. Riedel Tulip

A: Deep orange almost amber color. Slightly off white fluffy head. About a finger there. Sticky lacing.

S: Slight breadiness. Some herbal hops. Almost aged? Some slight fruit. Sweetness from malts.

T: Bitterness up front. Herbal notes. Almost tea like. Behind that you have some malt sweetness. Dry finish.

M: Medium bodied. Coats the mouth.

Thanks to someone for sharing this bottle at bu11zeye's 10,000th rating tasting.

The beer pours a yellow-orange color with a white head. The aroma is full of sweet orange and pine notes, with some nice caramel and biscuit notes mixed in. The beer smells very balanced. The flavor has a lot of bitter pine and orange notes, as well as a little bit of biscuit malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not a great IPA, but fairly drinkable overall. Glad I got to try it.

Thanks to nate8767 for the hookup!

Pours a bright orangey red with a small white head, good lacing and lots of bubbles.

Not a tremendous hop presence in the aroma. I get more caramel than anything although some soft citrus fruits are present.

The flavor, however, delivers. A little bit of subtle grapefruit presence on the front end. A good balance of caramel malts and piney hops on the back end. Very well balanced.

Good mouthfeel although nothing extraordinary stands out.

Very solid beer. I would prefer a bit more on the flavor/aroma end of things, but the middle and back end of the palate are balanced perfectly and very enjoyable. It went down smooth.

Thanks mhenson42 for the big score.

This is one of many freetail beers I scored in a bif and the first that's missing its cap. Beer pours an enormous head as some others have stated especially into my Sierra Nevada iPa glass. Color is apple juice and the smell is sweet and grape fruity. Mouthfeel if there is such a thing is fine, the aftertaste is a little bland but that can be attributed to the low abc maybe. This is a middle of the road iPa and a good start not a great start for my freetail experience.

Side note, no abv, ibu, or bottling info on the bottle, all breweries need that info on the bottle in my opinion.

The beer poured a golden amber with a huge fluffy white head. I detected tropical fruit with citrus notes in the aroma with some slight floral hops as well. The taste starts with a huge juicy tropical citrus hop bitterness that take over your palate then transforms into a fruity floral bitterness that coats your tongue. The Velocihoptor is a very well balance IPA that takes you on a perfect hop journey and ends with a nice dry finish.

On tap at Freetail for $5 a pint during normal business hours.

A- Pours a pleasant orangey hue with a thin head and very light lacing.

S- There's nice subtle grapefruit, citrus, and caramel notes.

M- Mouthfeel is medium. Nothing exceptional nor underwhelming.

T- Like the nose, nice subtle flavors of grapefruit and citrus. The caramel is the most pleasant for my palate. Alchohol is well hidden.

O- This is probably the best tasting Freetail beer I've had. In the past, previous brews I've tasted here have been mediciney, phenolic to my palate. This is a very pleasant, solid IPA.

Tan and clear with a good head and lace.

The malt base is ample and there's plenty of grapefruity hops. There's also a nice bit of sweetness that gives this beer an extra dimension, it's quite not as dry as some IPAs.

Body is medium, moderately carbonated, and damn easy to drink. A nice medium bitterness finishes, and the moderate level of alcohol doesn't leave you too toasted after drinking the whole bomber!

This is a fine beer. I think I liked the Soul Doubt IPA better, but anytime I get something from Freetail, I'm always pleased. I have to go that way today, hopefully they're open when I pass by so I can pick up something else to try!

Thanks to duff247. 22oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

Pours a deep orange color, almost amber but not quite. A nice finger or so of foam develops and sticks around for the duration. Really nice retention on the head. It seems to be a pattern with these Freetail beers. Nice lacing left on the glass.

The nose is pretty balanced. Some light tropical fruit is mixed with some caramel malt. It's pretty straightforward. Nothing is all that strong here but it's not weak either.

The taste follows the nose. Some citrus comes along with the light tropical notes, orange seems to be something that sticks out. Definitely a caramel malt sweetness here and it's pretty balanced. Slight bitterness at the finish.

Medium bodied with medium but soft carbonation. The beer has a creamy texture to it making it feel bigger than it is at times.

Overall this was a good beer. It's probably slightly above average for the style. Nothing stands out to put it among the best but there isn't anything that holds it back from being good either.
