This place is conveniently located just off of loop 1604 near military highway. The bar / restaurant is an open area about 5000 sq ft. You can see the brewing equipment behind the bar.
There were 4 house beers on hand and there are plans to have 8-10 beers in a month or so. There is also a decent selection of guest beers.
There are about 6 TV's around so this would be a good place to go to see a sporting event.
The food was quite excellent. The waitress was very attentive and pleasant and seemed to be familiar with the beer and the menu.
The menu consists of appetizers, salads, sandwiches. We had chips and salsa and the salsa had a solid hotness to it. Chips were crispy not greasy.
They have a whole menu page dedicated to pizza. You can order whatever sauce you want pesto, marinara , etc. The pizzas are cooked in a wood fired oven. They are exceptional. The roma pizza had a very nice crispy crust and tasty sausage and roma tomatoes.
A very solid addition to San Antonios brewing scene. I plan to come back often.

Freetail Brewing is a brew pub cloaked in a pizza joint pretending to be a sports bar. I like it. Will definitely visit again. Unfortunately it is about a 15 mile drive from downtown, so for frequent travelers like me who would love to hit a place like this, it will definitely take some effort and probably a rental car.
A - Open, bright enough, clean, no stale beer smell, loud when crowded, lots of TVs. An outdoor area, but too cold, though a few people were still braving the unusually cold San Antonio weather. - 4
Q – Correct glass ware, but the Old Bat Rastard was served too cold (of course it was below 40 outside!). Life could be worse. - 4.5
S - Excellent waiter, friendly, knowledgable about beer and food. – 4.5
S – Nine house beers on tap plus some guest beers and cider. - 4
Food – Go for the pizza. I had a Palamero (white pizza) to which i added spicy sausage. Yum! Good food to go with good beer. 4.5
Value – Three beers and a medium pizza (just for myself) cost me about $35 with tip. $$
