has an attractive golden copper appearance and a nice white collar. not much retention, but good lacing. smells of mainly piney hops, with some lemon rind-like citrus, and a light roasted smell. tastes quite hoppy up front, piney bitter hops with some floral, and more malty in the middle than expected. malts are definitely roasty giving it an interesting quality for an ipa. hops again for a crisp bitter finish. not a complete hop bomb, but still very good for an american ipa. has a medium mouthfeel, with a hop-complementing carbonation bite. drinkability is fine. definitely recommended for anyone who likes american ipas.

A - Dark amber pour with a crème colored foam that is high and clingy. Minimal lacing, and slight carbonation.
S - Some bready yeast notes, an earthy hop aroma, and some lemongrass hit the nose. This smells like a rustic IPA.
T - Some citrus notes in the initial sip. There is some mild malt flavors before the finish. The tongue gets hit with a raspy bitterness that compliments this beer.
M - Easy drinking IPA. This is preferred for someone who likes an earthy feel to the style.
O - First try from NOLA and this is a brewery I'd look to try again. A solid offering with a distinctive twist.
