This is an American style stout that has sweet malt flavors of caramel and chocolate, complimented by a crisp bitterness produced by roasted barley and American Hops. The complex malt bill of pale and roasted malts result in this well balanced stout that is smooth, rich, dark and delicious! And watch out – ABV 6.8%!

This was a nice part of my Father’s Day pick six pack from my daughter.
Poured from a can into a tulip glass. Dark brown color with with creamy beige head and good curtain lacing. Smell and taste of dark chocolate and roasted malt. Slightly sweet but a dry chocolate finish with a bit of bitterness. Nice smooth feel. Nice chocolate finish. Good beer!

Appearance: Pours translucent though espresso colored with an impressive bubble show that builds two fingers of beige foam; good retention and squiggles of lacing
Smell: Roasted and chocolate malt tones; pumpernickel bread and a hint of caramel
Taste: Somewhat roasty, right off the bat, with chocolate and caramel bringing some sweetness; pumpernickel bread manages to squeeze its way into the flavor profile but there is a dose of earthy hops in the middle; some burnt coffee in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A straightforward stout with no pretensions; nice to enjoy for a change of pace
Thanks, NolaHopHead, for the opportunity

An aggressive pour yields a thick but ephemeral head with decent lacing atop a robust inky brew. My nose returns mostly coffee and something earthy. Coffee continues on the palate with a rich finish that's not too sweet. I really like this one on a cold night. It also has cool graphics on the can. Thanks, NOLA.

16oz can into a pint glass. Best by 7/3/20, so a month inside the wire here.
Roasted malt aroma, a little apple.
Tastes like an irish dry stout. Light to medium roast with a little apple core.
Mouth medium, finish light roasted malt.
Overall, an okay drink, would enjoy once in a while, but not a session of these.

Poured from a growler into a pint glass.
Appears to be dark, almost black, with a thin foamy head that dropped quickly and minimal lacing.
Smells chocolate, Malty a hint of vanilla.
Taste follows the nose. At an ABV of 6.8 the alcohol taste is minimal.
Mouth feel is medium for the style.
Overall a very nice stout from a fresh tap and quite delicious.

3rd week of Stay Home Order in April and I decided to roll by NOLA Brewery and pick up a few cans. It wasn't bad, but not what I was expecting. Hopeful when we are allowed back in bars, I can try this on tap and see taste different than can. My guts says it will be different and I have a few cans left to compare. I will get back to you.

When you love Irish spurs for what they are, you will appreciate this one. Mild stout with medium mouthfeel. Chocolate, coffee, malty, low hops.
That low linger of roasted malt. That’s why I love this one. Like a Guinness but a little creamier and more complex flavor.
I would buy again.

Laissez la bonne biere verser. This was a beautiful black stout that was relatively easy drinking and not too heavy
Look: black with a thick mocca colored head
Aroma: roasted malts, chocolate
Taste: The flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, and bitterness similar to bakers chocolate at the end, not too bitter and refreshing.
Body/Overall: medium body, easy drinking

Love this beer. Sometimes I'll drive out of my way to go to one of the few stores in Austin that sells this. 4 pack in cans is what we have. Overall, a great beer and man, it hits hard when you are drinking it! NOLA style I guess. Underrated beer.
