Be prepared to check the dates on beer. I have had a similar time as a few other reviewers buying outdated beer. They do have some solid prices on imperial brews. The liquor prices are terrible, drive to highway 31 in pelham for liquor. This place charges 38 bucks for a fifth of crown, the abc store on 31 sells it for 27. They do have a good selection of beer and the prices are ok for most brews. Food depot occasionally has 6 packs for 2 bucks. I would rate this store a 3 out of 5.

Great store with long standing local owners ....the selection is unbeatable not much that they don't carry and are willing to get whatever you request... Convenient location and friendly staff ... Amazing beer selection including local brew and all the classic favorites... Cool package deals and a decent selection of drinking accoutrements including shot glasses and mugs... Very reasonable keg rentals ... My favorite part of this store is the variety many different selections on every different type of liquor

What most people do not realize is that Sam Adams will refund your money if the consumer is not satisfied with his/her purchase. It is not the responsibility of the proprietor if said beer is of the appropriate date. Before the business receives the shipment of beer theres no telling where and how long a beer has been sitting(sam adams brewery, distributor, delivery trucks...etc); all with varying levels of temperature and handling.

The establishment isnt very big; when you go in be prepared to walk into a place wall to wall with merchandise. The store itself has a lot crammed into it; however the staff is extremely friendly and approachable in finding what you came to look for. If a particular beer, liquor, or wine is out or unavailable; the next time you come in you can bet that it will be there waiting! If its available somewhere the owner will more than likely have it in stock the next time....Just ask!! Definitely the best selection in the area hands down would not go to any place else. You will always find something new every time you visit, Its like a candy store for grown-ups. The prices are very reasonable and on target on any budget. I typically purchase high gravity beers and am continuously impressed each and every time both with the staff and the selection overall.

I have visited this establishment in the past because it is one of the only liquor stores in Alabaster. They have always had a decent selection but the alcohol is very unorganized and it is very hard to walk through its narrow aisles. On 12/8/12, I visited the establishment and was very excited when I found out that they had a half case of Sam Adams Octoberfest when I knew that it was just out of season. I got home and immediately cracked one open and quickly realized that the beer was green/bad. I went straight back to the store and explained to both the employee and owner that the beer was bad. They pointed to the expiration date (March 2012) which as most beer drinkers know means nothing if the beer hasn't been stored in the correct temperature. The beer more than likely went from cold to hot to cold and I politely explained this to the owner and he was completely unprofessional and proceeded to tell me that its not his problem and to call Sam Adams. He refused to give me a refund for the $18 half case and would not allow me ot pick out another half case. I am writing this review to warn others as this is not the first time that this has happened. I purchased a Bud Light party ball that tasted the same exact way. I will no longer be visiting this establishment.

I live in Pelham, AL which is a few miles south of Birmingham, AL. This store is just a few miles south from where I live in Alabaster. If you are from Birmingham you know the difficulty of finding places that have a wide selection of different beer. This store itself is wall-to-wall bottles and boxes barely enough room to turnaround in the isles it is mainly a liquor store with a good selection of beer that you have to walk towards the back of the store to find. If you live in Shelby county, AL I highly recommend visiting this place.
