First had: on tap at Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen

It was ok. Poured light, clear copper with a small, quickly receding head. Light, malty aroma that carried into the taste. Malts, light sugars. Light mouthfeel, and a bit thin. But somewhat drinkable to those who don't want to take any risks.

A: Small head that dissipated pretty quickly. Body is amber-colored and completely clear.

S: Light malt coming through, with some breadiness and caramel present.

T: Moderately sweet with caramel flavors, and a lightly bitter, dry finish. Goes down pretty smooth overall.

M: Medium-bodied with some slight creaminess, and average carbonation.

D: Nothing spectacular, but pretty decent. Goes down very easy. I'd definitely like to try some more Chuckanut beers after having this one.

On tap at the brewpub the other day. While not bad, this was probably my least favorite beer of the various offerings I sampled here.

The beer pours a tannish brown color with OK head retention and little lacing. I don't get a lot on the nose, just some light sweet rootbeer, cherry and sweet malt. Flavors replicate the nose pretty well, except this beer is very, very light, almost to the point of tasting a bit watery. Drinkability is pretty good, and at the end of the day, I'd still call this a light, easy to drink and enjoy lager.

Clear copper with thin white head with good retention and lacing. Tasted malt aroma. Balanced malt and hops with a toasted biscuit and perhaps barley undertone. There is a light mouthcoating that is fairly pleasant for this beer. Moderately high carbonation making it a bit light bodied.

A good clean beer with some nice flavors and certainly an easy drinking beer for anyone.

Lovely autumn gold colour with a malty nose backed with some noble hops. This is a very good beer to have with food as it bring a strong malt backbone to the lager profile. I found the beer to not be overly sweet and on the money as far as a finish goes. This would be my go to beer this fall if I lived in Bellingham.

A: Poured a light copper color with good carbonation leaving a nice white cap

S: Bread, light caramel, grains and a grry hop note

T: What can I say? Delicous and damn flawless. You really have to have consumed a lot of other true, great lagers to appreciate its taste and craftsmanship. Floral, grassy hops are light, biscuity, a hint at grains and oh so tasty

M: Clean, crisp tasty and awesome. light body, near perfect

O: Best of the best

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clear, clean coppery-gold color with an inch of just off-white head that quickly dissipated and left no lacing.

The basic grain aromas were accompanied by a slight hint of a roasted scent. The flavors were very similar, with slight sharpness on the finish.

Typical body for the style. Drinkability was very good, having several of these wouldn't be any trouble. A beer worth trying, and worth some effort to find.

The measure of clarity in this Vienna-style lager is truly astounding. It's flawless. It's hypnotic. It's gold-topaz with light white suds. The beer itself is not otherwise overly charismatic. But like the body, the taste and aroma exhibit expert refinement with clear, targeted qualities of caramel toast and gentle hop spice. A light, doughy aroma can also be discerned.

Very easy to drink. A bit more head and style-specific glassware would bring the visuals to absolute perfection.

My absolute all-time favorite beer. I stop in weekly when it is on tap. Beautiful crystal clear copper color. Noble hops in such a refined and balanced presentation. And all of this amidst a Milky-Way-Bar mouthful of malt that lingers for minutes. Perfect carbonation. Like most of their clean, filtered lagers, not much head retention.

The only thing I don't like about this beer is that I typically have a second pint of the same, and miss out on their excellent Pilsner, Helles, and other lagers.

A - A great looking beer - perfectly reddish copper with wonderful clarity. Served with decent head that lingered nicely and excellent lacing that eventually covered nearly the entire glass.

S - Mild notes of toasted biscuit and caramel with mild, grassy hops.

T - About as it smells, but stronger in flavor than aroma. Nicely balanced and very easy to drink. Typical lager profile, and very nicely crafted.

M - Clean and fairly light in body with a moderately dry finish.

D - Quite high overall. Would have no problem downing a few of these.
