Ubu has just started to be distributed more in the Central NY area so Emobeerguy, Marty and myself picked up some. We all had it before at the CNY Brewfest a few months back on-tap, and I remember enjoying it more then. But here's what I thought of the bottle.
Wonderful deep dark reddish/brown color with a creaming light tan head that settles to nice lace. The smell is of an almost warming with slightly roasted and slightly chocolate malt aromas dominating. The taste is much the same with a hint of hops that goes well with the more complex malt flavors. The medium body, and good level of carbonation make for a pleasant mouthfeel. I could easily enjoy one or two of these at a time, but I don't think I would enjoy having more that that.
All in all, a good solid unique beer that I will buy again.
