Poured a golden color with decent head and lacing.

The smell was hoppy and earthy.

The taste was interesting. The strong hop presence was piney and very earthy tasting. It tasted like my hops smelled as I dried them in the oven before freezing.

The mouthfeel was of moderate carbonation with a very bitter hops kick.

The drinkability was OK, as you get used to the flavor, it's a pretty good drink, but the earthy flavor is different than I'm used to. (463 characters)

I think this may fall into the English IPA style category more than American but hey who am I?Pours a deep golden with a thin wispy head, aromas of some caramel malt and piney hop pretty well balanced.Taste seemed more on the malty side for the style big malt backbone biscuity and lightly sweet finishing with a late hoppy bitterness.Nothing really stands out a good melding of flavors but pretty basic and drinkable for the style will get again sometime Iam sure. (464 characters)

Presentation: It was served on tap in a pint glass from the Pearl Street Grill and Brewery.

Appearance: The body has a deep golden/orange amber color with good clarity and some nice visible carbonation. The head was white in color, average in size and quick fading to a small ring of foam that left some spotty lacing on the glass.

Smell: The aroma brings nice citrusy hops over soft sweet caramel malty notes.

Taste/Mouth feel: The favor had a quick flash of sweet malt followed by decent burst of juicy citrusy hops. The finish brings nice hop bitterness that fades off quickly and cleanly. Its has a medium body with average to light carbonation and a smooth mellow texture.

Notes: Overall it was a nice simple Pale Ale. (727 characters)

A lunchtime brew at Pearl Street, which came highly recommended to me the night before by a variety of Buffaloans (Buffaloians? Buffalites?).

Poured into a conical ale glass. Copper in colour, with a thin head and a touch of lacing.

Nose was good and malty, with a strong whiff of West coast hops and a bit of earthiness.

Decent pale ale, nice and flavorful, good balance of earthy and citrus hop tones. The finish is long and bitter, perhaps a touch too bitter. No matter, still quite enjoyable. Medium bodied, mild carbonation.

Nice little pale ale to go with my lunch. While not an examplar of the style, still a servicable and enjoyable brew. (651 characters)

At the brewpub on tap. One of their standards, tingly carbonation but a decent bitterness, and but a drop of head on light grapefruit colour. Serviceable pale. Faint hop aroma.English East Kent Golding, Fuggle and Progress, so a melange of hops to keep it interesting and drinkable again. (288 characters)

A: Mine was a beautiful ruby red, maybe darker than others are describing? It could have been the lighting. Nice thin head with mild lacing.

S: Hoppy pine and hay, with a bit of citrus. Nothing complex or strong, but not off-putting, either.

T: Starts with a sweet maltiness, then hits hard with the hops. Strong pine and bitter, sudsy citrus, mostly grapefruit. The same hoppy flavor carries all the way through the aftertaste, maybe a bit one-note, but I enjoyed the flavor enough that I didn't mind.

M: Just about right for an APA. Nice texture with a twinge of acidity.

D: The one sticking point for me. It was a bit overpowering with my meal, and I wouldn't make a session out of it. (692 characters)

Poured a copper-orange with about an inch of pure white head. Floral and spicy notes dominated my initial impression of the smell of this brew. Tasted spicy with a bitterness not unlike SNPA. Had a semi-thick mouthfeel, and was pretty drinkable, though only for a couple of pints. (280 characters)

The beer pours a nice golden color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a solid pale and Carapils malt scent along with a mild hop aroma. The taste is good as well. It has a smooth pale malt flavor that is well balanced with an easy drinking hop taste. It goes down crisp and easy with a mild bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a pretty standard APA. It's well balanced and quite drinkable. (515 characters)

tap

Pours a clear amber gold with a white film for a head.

Smells of light biscuit malts and piney dry hops.

Pale biscuit malt flavor with a piney dry hop bitterness.

Medium body with a tingle of carbonation on the tongue.

A pretty descent ale with good flavor that goes down easy. Not the most memorable brew but certainly enjoyable and worth a try. (356 characters)
