hefe weizen's are probably one of my favorite styles of beer because i just love the taste of unfiltered wheat, i dont know why but its soo good. this beer was a pretty good crack at it. it was alittle "thin" but it was certainly better then having a coors but its a good crack at the style. I would probably get it again if i had the shot, also it should be a note that there was a sabres playoff game going on at the same time and i shouldnt be taken too detailed bc my mind was alittle off.

I have had this a few times and it has always pretty much stayed the same, poured a hazy light yellow with some brownish colored tint a thin wispy white head atop.Aromas are quite yeasty a little to much so in my mind bubble gum is dominant in the nose and flavor along with some banana and clove, like I said big gum notes on the palate with some noticable clove and banana flavors no lemony citrus.Eh the yeastiness of this beer is to much it goes down easy but its not really refreshing.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Hefe yeast, white head on cloudy yellow. Served too cold, wheat sourish, cloves and a bit of bannana, a bit watery mouthfeel. Drinkable,I could have a pint of this, carbonation right there, though run-of-the-mill at the best for the style.

Eye Candy: Hazy, translucent straw yellow. Thin edges. No head.

The Nose Knows: Light, sweet fruit, grassy wheat

Tongueland: Grassy wheat, sweet fruit. One dimensional. Perfect for the Blue Moon drinker wanting to amp it up a notch.

Bender: Plenty of people spotted drinking this. I didnt really care for it, not my thing.

The beer pours a hazy pale gold color with a 1/2" white head that fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a nice pale and wheat malt scent along with a wonderful banana/clove yeast character. The taste is decent. It has a light and refreshing pale and wheat malt flavor that goes down quick and easy and finishes dry with some yeast esters and a bit of lemon zest. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is an above average hefe, but nothing spectacular.

tap

Pours a cloudy lemon gold, white film for a head.

Light clove and banana ester aromas.

Flavor of light banana and wheat malts with a hint of citrus.

Light body with soft carbonation on the tongue.

A pretty passable hefeweizen with some good flavor. Just a bit light and bland, even for a hefe though. Very drinkable though.

This hefe did its appearance job well with peachy stormy hues topped off with a frothy smattering ivory head.

Huge scents erupt of vanilla tapioca and banana pudding. Not ripe banana an wheat, mind you. This is just a blast of banana bread and pie!

First swigs: Flavor meets aroma. Loads of vanilla an banana cream pie hefe. Eventually some healthy hefe Earthy notes are coaxed out with about half the glass to go.

Last swigs: If you don't mind your hefeweizens headed towards banana land and away from wheat grain-ville, then this is sure to be a pleaser. Allowing the interpretive lattitude, I enjoyed this one. Sweet caramel sugars abound.

Beer is good. Happy brewpub beering.

this beer apparently replaced the waterfront wheat in the tap line up. this beer pours a cloudy straw color with low head retention... but lots of little bubbles. the aroma immediately lets you know that it's using some of that lovely hefe yeast, with a good bit of the banana and clove esters that we all know and love. the taste follows suite with a bit of a citrus kick at the end. the medium body struck me as a little heavy for the style, but an easy drink none the less.
