Apesar de pilsen não ser meu estilo favorito, é um exemplar exelente da escola alema. Amargor na medida certa e com presença, até persiste! Espuma perfeita, único forme e persistente.

Darker amber golden color with a thick off-white head with medium retention, but and leaving a fixed plate and strong laces.
Somewhat creamy aroma with notes of malt sweetness, fresh flowers, grass, a hint of green apples and bread with butter.
Flavor with notes of malt sweetness, orange juice, parfumy and spicy hops, bread crust with a hint of butter, herbal tea bags and minerals. Dry aftertaste with a long bitterness.
Light to medium body with appropriate carbonation of tiny bubbles.
Well balanced Bohemian Pilsner with a long lasting bitterness and pronounced floral notes and a citrusy hint from fresh batches. Faithful to style as very few locals. Lowering a bit its malt profile, it would be perfect for my taste.

600 mL bottle courtesy of DoubleJ, thanks Jon,
A: Pours a dark goldenrod with a light white head, average retention and lace.
S: Hint of diacetyl with the noble hopping. Smells English.
T: Tastes like a bitter mixed with a pils which isn't a bad thing. Diacetyl causes a problem but the hoppy earthy grassy finish is quite enjoyable.
M: Light-bodied, with crisp carbonation and a lingering enjoyable hoppy aftertaste.
O: Not a bad beer, Jon said it was better in Brasil and I believe him. The travel has hurt it a bit, but I hope to try it at its source on day. I know how good Wals can be.

355 ml bottle at Beertaste in Rio de Janeiro, on to the beer:
A great looking beer. Ring after ring of lacing stick to the glass of this golden colored beer, and I should mention that the head retention is great as well. Hops and more hops, claim the nose. Slightly herbal as well. Like the aroma, it is a hoppy beer in flavor. It´s not overkill hoppy though. There is plenty of hop bitterness to go around, and then some to be shared around. Some citrus and grapefruit emerge from the hoppy goodness of this pilser. The aftertaste lingers with a pleasant bitterness.
Is Wäls the best brewer to come out of Brazil? They brew an enjoyable light lager, a tasty tripel, a quadilicious quadrupel, and now a pleasing pilsner. And to think that it´s just 5% ABV. I´ll take this over a Prima Pils, which tells you how much I enjoyed this beer.
