This is a typical euro lager / american pale lager type beer. The can was brought back from our vacation last July. The beer pours a yellow clear with nice white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent is has faint grain....wet saaz like hops. The taste is light and crisp...nice balance between bittering hops and malt. The mouthfeel is light in body with good carbonation. Overall this is a nice easy drinking beer....probably better for hotter days.

Poured into a pint glass yielded a pale yellow color and minimal head. Smell was slight. Taste was typical of most American adjunct lagers probably brewed for tourist consumption, but it was not unpleasant. Mouthfeel was not too good, but overall this brew was drinkable if nothing is else is available (the only available beer was worse). I did drink several after a hard day at Victoria Falls and wanting to linger in the resort restaurant viewing the grazing warthogs. Topped off a great day, but this is not a beer I would take home to mother.

I had this quite a bit in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. I actually did like it a bit more than the other available brews. There is maize used in this one, and even though its anadjunct, I think it gave an interesting flavor profile that was not all that bad. Clean flavor profile. Mild nose, but still a bit there. Very easy to drink.

The picture of Victoria Falls makes it fund to drink while you are there.
The good: A very typical southern Africa beer. (That being said - not very different than the lagers I've tasted in Thailand, Mexico, Chile and every other "3rd" world country. On a hot day, it will get you by, keep you cool, and put something in your mouth. Drink enough and you'll get a nice buzz.
The bad: See above. There is nothing to this beer besides being cold and light. It was at least as good as the other local beers, but that's not saying much.
Enjoy the label. Drink it if you're there, but don't go out of your way for it.

One of the worst beers that I have ever had.
I hate this beer because I ordered it when I could have ordered some Kenyan Honey Wine that would have been way better.
The appearance is similar to high life but not quite as dark. It is very bubbly.
It smells like peppered skunk served with a side of corn husks and straw.
Its super light bodied and grainy. The hops are sharp and bitter but the overwhelming character is skunk.
If this beer was ever any good, it did not transport well. Ive tried it on two separate occasions thinking that my first taste was just a bad sample but the second was even worse.
This beer might be better on the East Coast but by the time it makes it to the Midwest its total rubbish.

Pale color, poor head retention, Smells like cheap euro-lager a la Heineken. Flavor is very light malt and grassy hops and tastes a bit like Heinie or Amstel mixed with Alka-Seltzer. Finishes clean and very dry. Not terrible but has some nasty little quirks to make it off-putting. Who would think to import this stuff...looking at the bottle...Sagma Enterprizes in EDMOND, OKLAHOMA! That figures. (See My review of Club Lager).

Light gold color, small white foamy head. Aroma is grassy and grainy. Medium bodied lager. Light malts and hops. Good balance, nice flavor, mild taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. There is a touch of green bottle taste.

A big, crusty, noisy, fizzy, white head on top of a clear, gold beer. Not bright gold, kind of dirty gold. Smell is corny and a little sour. Not bad. A dusty, corny front... a thin, watery, tingly middle... a metallic, dry, somewhat sour finish. This beer is not offensive.

What a strange beer this is, just being from where it is, is strange enough, who would ever think Zimbabwe would brew a beer? Color is a light golden yellow with a two finger high head of white foamed frothyness, leaves some spotty lace. Smell is a tad to uneven, piney hops and sweetish malts play back and forth a bit, somewhat musty. Taste is really no different, bland and played out hops and malts. The feel is light and watery with a nasty edge of cardboard and mustyness. Not a very good beer, thank goodness it was offered up by someone else, weird choice to have at a party though, wouldn't you say?

Slightly hazy golden color with a large snow-white cloudtop head and lots of thick, stickly lace, largely unbroken. Aroma is quite grainy, with a spicy hop character and quite a bit of skunk. Taste begins with smooth malt flavor and strong spicy, but only mildly bitter hops. Towards the end of the taste some sharp, but short- lived hop bitterness appears. Mouthfeel is smooth and quite creamy. A surprisgly good beer for which I had low expectations.

The beer pours a typical lager golden yellow, the head average in size, and the lace mediocre and does cover the glass. Nose is that of malt, clean and crisp, pleasant enough. Light malt and quite sweet start, the top cadaverous, the finish spiteful in its acidic bite, hops apropos to the style, dry aftertaste, and just another Average lager, only uniqueness is the fact it comes from Africa, not a real Hotbed of beer brewing.

This is a fantastic lager - I love it. The taste of hops is crisp and clean. The aroma is excellent - almost a 5. The finish is extremely clean. The head is not to heavy and doesn't last but about 3 to 5 minutes depending on the pour. The color is a crisp and clear yellow.
Who would have thought a great lager could come out of the middle of nowhere in Africa. (Kind of makes sense - since it was invented in Africa over 6000 years ago). I highly recommend this one. If you can find it try it.

Pours a clear golden straw color with a foamy white head. Aroma is dominated by malts, grains, and hay with some mild floral notes. The taste is a bit bland with some hop bitterness. It goes down smoothly, but this beer could use a bit more character.

Pours a clear pale bubbly yellow with a large white fluffy head. The smell of slight skunk with a light earthy background. The taste is very mild with light grainy malt and is lightly hopped to create a smooth balance with a light dry finish. Nothing here to "Wow" me, but there again, I can appreciate a mild beer every now and then. Pretty tasty and drinks down danged easy. Cheers!

Zambezi: A “premium export lager” from Africa. The twelve ounce green bottle explains that the beer is named after the Zambezi river of Victoria Falls fame. The beer was a slightly dark golden brew, with a sparse head. It had a sweet, slightly earthy aroma. The beer seemed very fresh, and had a well balanced malt taste, a slight malt bite, and a very clean and refreshing after taste. Not bad after a safari.

Presentation: 12 oz thick green bottle with no freshness date.
Appearance: Golden straw in colour, decent white lace with a bubbly looking carbonation.
Smell: Clean with a grainy husk and a peppery hop nose.
Taste: Light bodied with a clean grainy palate, mildly sharp hop bitterness does not last long … hop character is mild to moderate. Carbonation is spot on and is crisp to the mouth, hints of sweet earthy grain and a spotless after taste make a perfect ending to this brew.
Notes: A well brewed lager, endured very well coming from Zimbabwe. An all around good clean beer. Paired well with spicy bean burritos.

Pours a clear pale straw color, with a slightly sticky / foamy head. On the nose is a slight hop aroma, as well as grassy tones. Mouth feel is slightly watery. On the palate the flavors consisted of a slightly sour / bitter twang, hops, grassy, and maybe a touch of lime. Not bad, but nothing great either truly a thirst quencher though. Worth a try First beer I ever had from Africa.
