Attached to the mall in Greenwood it is like most corporate brewpub restaurants. A nicely designed open area type of restaurant with deconstructed ceilings painted black. I personally do not like this type or architecture, but it is what it is. Now to the important stuff. The food is a bit expesive, but it is very good the avocado egg roll thingys are great. I have tried several brews here which you can find in my review section. Not a bad place to go. I would say it isn't worth the price though. Go to Shallo's if you want better beer selection (but Shallo's does not brew their own) and a better atmosphere; however, if price isn't an option and you are by the mall, stop in here for a brew and a bite to eat, it is about 20 million times better than the Cheesecake Factory. I give BJ's a B.

I used to go to BJ's in California all the time, and was bummed when I first moved back here because there wasn't one. Now there is, and it is so awesome!!! Yes it's a big chain restaurant, but they have amazing food and some great beer. They have some of the best pizza I have ever eaten, and I've eaten alot of pizza!!! Deep dish, and great quality ingredients. They also have some great beer! The Tatonka stout is my favorite! Also the Piranha pale ale. Tastes like a slightly more hoppy version of Sierra Nevada. The nutty brewnette is good also. Didn't care for the Irish Red. I agree with others that the service is so-so. Last time I went it was great, but have had some pretty bad service in the past.

Decided to visit this place while in Indy visiting family.

The place kinda has a chain restaurant feel, but not nearly as annoying as some. The place is big and open, with lots of TV's adorning the walls. Seems very family friendly

The service was pretty good, the waiter we had was right on top of everything. He definately made sure that when our beers started getting low, he was there to ask if we wanted another. Quick, timely, friendly service. It helps that we were there with JAYBLACK who appears to be a regular, or at least he knows this particular waiter.

The food was actually pretty good, we got the deep dish pizza, and it was much better than I expected. We also got the pazooki for dessert, and it was terrific. The variety of menu items was very nice too, lots of options for everyone.

The beer was much better than I expected, my wife got a sampler of all 7 of thier offerings (excluding the IPA), so I got to try each of them. Good stuff, The Pirhanna Pale Ale is particularly good. I got a pint of the Kolsch (really good), the IPA (Very good, but not quite as good as the Pale Ale), and the Imperial Stout (Pretty good).I was fairly impressed overall. The only let down is that they don't brew thier beers on site. That kind of made this more like a visit to any other chain restaurant, rather than a brew pub.

I go to BJ's every once in a while for the beer and the big screen tv. The atmosphere is kind of a mix between a brewpub and a big chain restaurant (i.e. TGIFs, Chili's, etc.) The Greenwood/Indianapolis store started out fun and exciting, however my patience for this establishment is wearing thin.
I usually sit at the bar, which is the quickest and best service you'll get. I've never been a fan of the food, however their beer is not bad and they have an okay Belgian beer menu (bottles priced the same as the beer store). There's a window looking into the "brewery" in the restaurant, but I was told they only brew the root beer on site.
I have been increasingly disappointed with the wait staff, often times hearing their vulgar conversations as they hang out at the corner of the bar area. There are quite a few great brewpubs in Indianapolis, and more often than not the bartenders have some knowledge about their beers. I cannot say the same about this place.
I will be sticking to Shallo's for a south side bar from now on, even if the taxes do actually go up!
