Appearance: Pours with a head of about two and a half fingers. Golden, glowing orange color. On the lower side of active carbonation. Sticky lacing left behind at each level.

Smell: Grainy caramel hits first. Straw with some heavier saturated citrus fruits shows up on the body. The back end sweetens up a bit with some spiciness.

Taste: Caramel malts greet the palate. Pine and heavy citrus hop profile jumps the drinker. Grainy finish with some lighter, spiced notes which are pretty interesting.

Mouthfeel: Carbonation is low. Dry finish with some malt sweetness.

Overall: A pretty middle of the road DIPA. Nothing really stands out, too malt forward. Just feels like they didn't take any risks making this beer.

Poured slightly chilled in hotel glass at the North American Patristics Society conference, 2014, Hyatt Chicago.

A: semiclear amber, good carbonation, very robust, creamy head
S: luscious hop aroma; grass, a bit of pine; lingers nicely; v. inviting
T: grainy, dry, very bitter flavor; booze comes through nicely; needs to be sweeter for the style
M: a bit rough in the mouth

I don't plan to return to this beer; there are much better IIPAs out there.

Can poured into dimpled pint, burnt orange in color, two finger head does not retain well after the one minute mark.

Smells: Pine, apricot, malt

Taste: Pinepple, apricot, malt, and a crisp hop finish that doesn't linger too long

Mouthfeel: moderate

Overall, this was a good buy for a four pack. I'll get this again, but not year round. This is too much of a summer beer.
