12 oz champagne mini bottle, corked and capped.

Pours out bright pale straw and sits a light gold, tinted peach in the glass with a frothy white head being fed by a thick stream of bubbles. Head fades slowly to a light skim a few lacings fall around the glass.

Aroma is nice and musty with a thick oak presence. Chalky banana flesh mingles with a ligh, soured aroma of lemons, grapes and crab apples. Very mild leathery aroma, dry and dusty.

Tastes sugary sweet up front but is balanced off with an even sourness. I'm reminded of a particular flavor of Jelly Bellies, Butter Popcorn (one of my favorites), this just seems a little odd. Soft notes of bananas meld with sweetened fruity flavors of apples and grapes, holding bits of skin-induced sourness. Dry wooden flavors hide in the background, offering a bit of old-world, musky flavor. Finish holds on to the fruity sweetness, rather candylike sweetness and is partially dry, but lacking in depth.

Smooth yet crisp in the mouth, lightly effervescent. Quite easy to handle and a suitable feel for what it holds.

I couldn't have imagined this to taste any different. As far as getting a good banana flavor into a lambic, they've done quite well. I actually enjoyed this, maybe it's because of my sweet tooth, but I can't find much fault with it. I'll say that it lacks a lot in terms of the traditional lambic mustiness, but it has it's own place and is well made as a banana flavored beer. This would make for a great dessert beer.

Pours a nice fizzy yellow amber with a fuzzy faint head that quickly dissipates like champagne. Smells like a typical lambic and tastes very sweet. To me there was not much of a banana taste or smell at all but I really enjoyed the beer. Typcial lambic funkiness and the alcohol is very well hidden. A really good beer if you like the sweetness.

Banana lambic?! Hm, should be interesting.
Pours pale yellow, bit of lace.
Smell of dried banana chips, candi sugar, bit of cidery tartness and floral honey.
Not as syrupy sweet as expected it to be from the smell. Acidity hits at first, with apple cider, faint sour cherries and very faint lemon zest. Banana follows, but green and unripe, not too sweet and sticky. Nice clear Belgian sugars, again, not sticky. Good lambic funk, with mild green notes in the dry finish.
Light bodied, medium fizz, lingering fruitiness, white grape-like dryness and a bit of candi sugar.
A good fruit lambic, tasty natural banana feel, nice balance and flavours.

Poured from a bottle at Lexington Beerworks (KY)

Light amber, clear and high visible carbonation - like an Amer. lager. Decent head and lacing.

Very floral and moderately fruity saison aroma with light farmhouse character, less banana than expected. Over-ripe banana.

Flavor: more banana. Also apple juice. Some tartness but still a bit sweeter than I would prefer.

Light body; medium plus carbonation. semi-dry finish.

Corked 375ml green bottle into tulip.

A: Pours a clear yellow urine color with almost no head. A few white bubbles surfaced on top of the beer but they quickly faded into a faint collar. No lace.
S: Sickly sweet notes of banana syrup are cloying and dominating. I detect a very faint touch of what could be barrel funk, but overall I just get sugar banana syrup.
T: Follows the nose with the cloying sugary banana flavor dominating. In the finish there is a note or two of something that reminds me of cream, and the aftertaste is full of more banana and slight apple, grape juice and pear.
M: Very low carbonation that briefly fizzes up in my mouth over a syrupy thick body and full, viscous, mouthfeel.
O: Pretty much what I expected, I unfortunately expected this to be bad. Not undrinkable, but this tastes more like drinking straight banana syrup used in sodas than it does a lambic.

I've never had a Chapeau, another candy like lambic from Belgium. Instead of the effervescent champagne head I'm used to with Lindeman's I barely got any bubbles even after a pretty hard pour. The Banana Lambic, I've seen the beer a hundred times over the years, and never even thought once that I need to try this, until now. Looks like a mild carbonated cider thin white head, aroma has some tartness and hints from the oak barrels along with the candy like banana natural banana flavor additions. Slightly tart underneath, with a Wonka candy, Runts like banana flavor. Very sweet more than one would give you a stomach ache, this is not true lambic but definitely good for moderation or dessert. Overall mouthfeel is cloying residual sugars build up on the palate with each sip, low carbonation doesn't carry the syrupy texture very well either. Overall an interesting take on a Belgian inspired classic style like Lambic.

375ml corked bottle, just arrived at my store today. Pouring into 3 sample cups to share with a couple employess (our cashier likes it) and get their take on it as well in addition to using this review for my Beer Club.

AP: Nice light honey-like colour and it's keeping it's head at about 1/4", which is all I can get out of a sample cup. Looks to have assertive carbonation as the bubbles are flowing bottom to top.
AR: Ripe banana and banana chips (the ones with sugar on them) with green tart apples, apple cider and pear aromas to compliment. Smells pretty tasty.
T: Decent flavour on this. Typical lambic taste of apple cider, tart green apples, pear and even white grape. The banana seems missing at first, but then makes an appearance weaving in and out with the other flavours. The base flavours are quite good. On the finish the banana is more prominent and sweeter in a slightly sugary way, which to me I'd rather have a more natural banana flavour than the sweet kind.
M: Not as carbonated as the visual would indicate, I'd say only mildly so but it does provide a little creaminess. Body is light to moderate with a crisp finish, but due to the sweetness of the banana flavour it's neither dry nor off dry and doesn't cleanse your palate.
OV: A tasty easy drinking brew. This one goes down very easy. If you like banana flavour, but aren't necessarily a Lambic fan, this still might work for you. For those who are hardcore 'true' Lambic fans, you might find this too sweet. Either way worth a try. I'd have it again.
