Pours a murky brown color with LOADS of particulate. In other words, floaties. Lots and lots of floaties. There is a minimal sudsy light tan head that evaporates before you set the glass down.
The nose has a mineral aroma that doesn’t fit well with the subtle tart notes and the substantial sweetness from the brown sugar. The brown sugar provides a very forward and very substantial sweetness that overpowers the tartness of the base beer. If this had a bit more acidity, it would make this beer substantially better, IMHO.
The mouthfeel is not as effervescent as I’d like in a lambic. Overall, this was interesting and fun to drink as a new brewery and a new style to me.

12.7oz bottle, tulip, no dating on bottle.
Copper slightly hazed beer with just a few bubbles at the pour. It appears almost still.
Light brown sugar, nutmeg and light spice, peach skin, wood tannins.
Brown sugar simple syrup, hints of vanilla, oak, and apple cider vinegar. Even though I say apple cider vinegar, it’s the flavor, not any of the acidity. As many others mention, I find it much sweeter than I would prefer. More tannins or acidity would create balance.
The feel is syrup-like, light bodied, and there is just enough carbonation to let you know that it is intended to have carbonation.

De Belgiuminabox. En copa Teku. Estudiando. Sin espuma. Nariz bastante agria y en boca un dulzor azucarado que al principio es bienvenido porque suaviza bastante lo que la nariz presagiaba pero que a la larga resulta cansino y te encuentras con que los 25cl se hacen hasta largos.

A 250ml bottle with a best before date of 14th September 2019. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.
Appearance: A clear copper colour with minimal white head, just a ring around the glass and no lacing.
Aroma: Musty, apple juice, soy sauce, cherry, apple cider vinegar.
Taste: Sweet, candi sugar, brown sugar, sugar syrup, apple cider, red grapes and a hint of wood.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: Taste wasn’t bad and was better than the aroma, but it was sweet, too sweet. And even a 250ml bottle took quite a bit to finish.

Sugary sweet, as expected, gets into some sour apple, pear, lemon, but then has this awful vinegar finish that ruins it all. Otherwise it was quite nice. Should have known since the smell was very acidic and stringent. Pass on this one

You think you've studied a countries beers well, and then this comes along.
A pleasant surprise for a malt-seeking palate.
And since the Belgians brew with more sugar than other countries, I suppose they should have a style that grew out experimenting with even more sugar.
I actually found this refreshing.
But I wonder what it will be like with desserts.
I will report on that as soon as a find the other bottle that I suspect is hidden in my cellar.
"Michael Jackson's Great Beers of Belgium" doesn't really review this beer, but talks about De Troch for a page.
