A: The beer is clear pale yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that gradually died down, leaving a thin collar around the edge and some lacing on the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of peaches are present in the nose.
T: Much like the smell, the taste has flavors of peaches, although they don't seem fresh and seem a bit syrupy.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a low amount of carbonation.
O: The beer is easy to drink, but seems like it could use some more carbonation.

It's the color of peach if not tilting a little to the lighter side. It's got complete calrity...in fact, it looks a little flat. The bottle has instructions on how to tilt the glass and pour slowly to control and create a healthy head. Not a problem, as it goes down as quickly as it came up. All that remains is a thin and wispy bit at the edges. Very little lacing is left in tiny spots.
It actually doesn't smell too sweet, but they're definitely off-track on what they think a Lambic ashould be. Instead of tartness and funk, it's wild, uncontrolled and less coordinated funk that also smells of cork. What's going on here, exactly? It's not the worst, but it's just not right.
In the taste, the cork funk returns and the main difference is that it's quite sweet. I don't ind it to be cloying, as some do, but it's up there as far as sweetness goes. It's kind of a sugary peach. It's actually pretty pleasant as pure, fresh peach juice taste comes in.
There's a little crispness starting it off, but it doesn't last. It's quite syrupy and sticky and a little thin in the body. Eh.

12.7 ounce bottle. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a clear gold color with about an inch white head that didn't stay around for very long. There's a small amount of lacing. Aroma is peach syrup, bready malt, and a bit of earthy aromas, too. It tastes mostly like canned peaches syrup, sugar, and a bit of grainy malt. It's very sweet tasting. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit slick and syrupy with low carbonation. This is a one and done for me, I wouldn't buy it again. It was getting hard to finish this brew after a while! Worth a try if you've never had it before, but this is certainly one of the sweeter lambics I've had recently, too sweet for me. $5.99 a bottle.

Chapeau Peche
Brouwerij De Troch

Appearance: Clear golden in color, lots of active carbonation showing. Small white fizzy bubbly head forms.

Smell: Very peachy, sweet, some grains, unripe apple. Cidery.

Taste: In the taste, peach preserves upfront, followed by a mild vinegary acidity. Mostly sweet peach juice, with a little tart. A very faint note of musty oak.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied, low-medium carbonation, in the finish, sweet peach and muted funk.

Overall: This peach lambic is somewhat tasty, though not as lambic like as some other great examples of the style. An excellent drink to enjoy with an early brunch, not really a complex sipper.

375ml green bottle with no freshness date. Sweetened with natural juice.

LOOK: Flat, golden peach.

SMELL: Cloying sweet, simple syrup, peach juice, oak.

TASTE: Intensely sweet, flat, peach hard candy, musty, dried grass, yeast, faint cork.

Damn ... sooo sweet. Did someone dump a kiddy juice box into my glass? Pretty far from what a beer is let alone a lambic ... a stretch for sure.

The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is very strong on the peaches. There may be a little bit of funk hidden in the background, but it is stomped on by the sweet peaches. The flavor is more of the same. The beer tastes like the syrup that you get with canned peaches. It is way too sweet and hard to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. This was the worst of the three Chapeau beers we had recently, with the other two being the Kriek and the Banana.

Thanks to Bobby for sharing this.

A: The pour is a dark golden-orange color with a few haphazard bubbles popping up.

S: The nose is uninspiring if nothing else. Not really much, if any, peach aroma, but plenty of cork and an earthy, mushroom mustiness.

T: Like on the nose, there is a lot of just moldy, musty, earthy character to this beer that is not at all pleasing or enjoyable. Rotting peaches and sugary sweet with hardly any acidity or any bright spots at all.

M: The body is light to medium with a limp sort of carbonation that does not do this beer any favors.

D: This was pretty bad, even by Chapeau standards. No thanks.

Appearance: Pours out a an orange-gold body with a smattering of scattered, distraught bubbles.

Smell: Smells of the corpse of somebody who died from drinking far too much peach schnapps. Not a bad way to go, really.

Taste: Jarringly sweet from the get-go and with a jolt of peach flavoring. Plenty of moldy, musty, rotted wood. Far, far too much sugar dumped into a poor lambic. Unclemattie asked if I was crying afterwards. I definitely choked up when he asked that.

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: Trust me, there are plenty of other far better lambics out there today. This, however, is an undrinkable mess. Why do I continue to engage in this ridiculousness?

37.5 cl bottle, capped and corked, pours a dark apple juice color with a bit of haze, faint rim of bubbles that quickly disperses. Reminds me of apple cider.

This really isn't so much a beer as a nice, sweet fruity drink. All peach (they say 20% peaches on the label), with the slightest of lambic notes in the back. Some esters in the smell.

At 3.5% this is barely more than a juice, which is what one is reminded of. Just a bit of tang to make you think something like peach cider. It's not that it's not drinkable but, certainly nothing to seek out or enjoy as more than a passing oddity.
