33cl brown bottle purchased and consumed at Le Supercoin in Paris. Label has some pretty amazing art and design elements to it. Freshness date was 28/5/2014, at least two months after when I drank it, which will come up in the review...

Pours a deep reddish amber colour with good clarity. Head is a fine and persistent creme of off-white that forms thin, intricate and persistent lace. Looks pretty good all up.

Nose is a bit of a worry. Coppery malt but lots of oxidation characters. Papery, capsicum peppers, wet caramel with some faint, flabby, vegetative hops. Slight hint of musk comes through as well. Really, not very good.

Taste is similar. Very oxidised (despite the date on the bottle). Coppery, metallic. Newspaper soaked in sugar-water. There are some dried fruit characters and a touch of orange, but always thin and strained. There's a valiant bitterness towards the back, but it does nothing to cover the flaws, and it ends up feeling very much out of place.

Feel is slick and full, but it doesn't have much to work with.

Overall, I found this very difficult to drink. I can't help but feel that even at its peak it would be quite pedestrian. With the oxidation, it's really very poor indeed.
