I found this place via BA BeerFly. "Good call" by all of those that reviewed Coaster Pub.

132 beers pretty much guarantees that you will find something to your liking. The bartender, Cheryl, was a very friendly and accommodating lady who had a pretty good handle on the beer selection. The owner, David, was on location sporting a BA T-shirt and I immediately introduced myself as a fellow Advocate. Very knowledgeable and eager to please, David showed off some of his personal beer collectibles and explained several of the beers on hand that I was not familiar with.

My girlfriend and I sat for 2 hours or so during the lunch hours, mid week. The crowd was light and mixed with other couples, families, local workers and tourists. Food was reasonably priced and tasty. Excellent service from both the bartender and owner and the selection can't be beat.

This bar is a "don't miss", stop in and say hello to self professed beer geek David and enjoy the best selection in Central Florida.

While there, my girlfriend and I had:
Bells 2 heart Ale
Lefthand Double IPA
Fullers ESB
Westmalle (triple)
Sprecher Black Bavarian
Weyerbacher Double Simcoe
Ommengang 3 Philosophers

There is a reason you see so many high ratings here compared to the other craft places in Brevard. It's the best of the best. There are other great places to go for beer, but no one can touch Coasters.

The atmosphere is much quieter than the competition, and although their beer menu isn't quite as vast as some of the others, they make up for it in quality. What do I mean by that? Somehow, the owners (Dave and Joe) have connections. They get brews that you can't get anywhere else. It's a given that they'll have whatever limited releases come to Florida, but you will be amazed at the stuff that they get that's not released in Florida. They boast, "Only bar in the state to get a keg of XYZ" all the time. They recently got the second of two kegs of a limited Stone release that was only available in one other place in the US...at Stone Brewery!

Check out their Biergarten in the back...somehow they managed to create a beautiful landscaped German biergarten in the middle of a strip mall rear parking lot. It's secluded and sectioned off with a huge white fence so you'd never know it! Totally awesome job guys!

Food quality is off the charts. I'm quite partial to their exotic meat specials. Where else can you enjoy a rare cask beer (they have a cask beer on tap all the time) while eating a kangaroo burger? I've also had llama and elk...the choices change regularly.

This is the place to be ladies and gentlemen. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

I love Coasters Pub. Its one of my favorite places to get good food and good beer. The beer list is constantly changing with new and exciting beers. They have an amazing selections of beers on tap, beers that are rare to find. The food is also very good and reasonably priced. I go to coasters as much as I can. The waitresses and bartenders know the beer very well, along with proper food pairings. The servers get to know their customers and offer different suggestions they think you'll enjoy. Ive never had a bad experience, bad food or bad beer from Coasters. Best place to have a good time in Brevard County. Also, the biergarten is AMAZING!

I liked the atmosphere. They have a nice big bar with a long line of tap handles behind it dispensing a lot of interesting and unusual beers. Hopheads will be very happy with the selection. I had a Weihenstephan - Korbinian dopplebock, a Cigar City - Jai Alai IPA, a Dogfish Head - 60min IPA and a Wexford - Irish Cream Ale. They also had Great Divide - Hercules Double IPA, 2010 Bigfoot Barleywine Style Ale, Bells Two Hearted and Victory Hop Devil on tap. They had a cask of Victory Hop Wallop. Those are all favorites of mine.
I had the fish & chips, which was very well done. The big fish fillet was perfectly beer battered, and fried crisp, not greasy. A lot of people were ordering chicken wings. They use extra-large size chicken wings, and the people next to me had some, and were raving about how good they were.
There is nowhere else in the area that I know of with this type of selection of beers on tap. The bartender was friendly, but seemed overwhelmed.

I had given up on finding anything interesting to drink in Melbourne when I visited Coaster's pub. The interior has character and the waitress behind the bar (Cheryl) was awesome. She recommended beers and gave me samples to try, and provided excellent service.

They have almost 40 taps and I was told by the locals that over half of them change on a regular basis.

They have some VERY interesting beers on draft including Great Divide's Hercules Double IPA (FANTASTIC if you like the double IPAs), 2 Barley wines and an American Imperial Stout that was aged for 6 months in Scotch Whiskey barrels.

They had several outstanding Belgian ales and some good local brews too such as Cigar City's IPA.

This pub was a truly welcome find.

Coasters is the place to go around Melbourne. The owner is a BA himself and seems to have his finger on the pulse of what we want to drink. You seat yourself and it doesn't take long to get a beer. They routinely age their kegs, you can get a 2011 and 2010 pint of Big Foot as an example. They have a good bottle selection which includes some rarities. They have Black Albert (god knows how they got it), and I've seen and empty bottle of Westy 12 which I will be inquiring about. The Selection changes and they update you via facebook. I don't care to look at the selection anymore because I know I will find something good. Every friday they tap a cask of some rare brew. They have a Belgium beer fest once a year...Cigar City brews a dubbel specifically for Coasters.

The food is incredible, I usually get their french dip or Burger...amazing! I love the place. Keep it up!

I've spent quite a bit of time in this area, but I'd never made it to Coasters. I needed to kill some time before an errand today and saw on Twitter that they had a beer engine up and running, so I popped in. Definitely glad I did.

Although it's in a shopping center with a Wal-Mart and a Winn-Dixie, Coasters is a really solid beer bar with over 30 taps. Some of the tap offerings I remember: Cigar City Maduro, Bells Two-Hearted, Celebration, Hoptical Illusion, St. Bernardus Abt 12, Ruination, Arrogant Bastard, and things in that vein. Compared to other bars I've been to in the area, it's a stellar list. I had an Old Slug on cask, which was quite tasty.

I'm pretty sure this is the only bar I've ever been in that had taps for both Michelob Ultra and St. Bernardus Abt 12. Actually, they had several BMC beers on tap. Given the way the market probably skews in the area, that's probably a pretty savvy business decision.

Didn't sample anything on their bottle list, but it was pretty impressive. Some of the highlights off the top of my head: Black Albert, Bells Batch 9000, Bitches Brew, Oerbier Riserva, and 6L bottles of St. Bernardus that which come complete with take-home glasses.

Bar atmosphere doesn't usually do much for me, but they've got a lot of really cool breweriana and glassware on display around the place. The bar itself is particularly cool; it's basically a bunch of old brewery coasters that have been covered over. Really enjoyable to look at all the old brands.

Both the bartender and another guy I talked to (seemed like the owner/manager) were really friendly and obviously knew their beer. The manager-type told me they were going to be doing a different cask every Friday and mentioned they'd have things from places like Cigar City, Stone, Blue Point, and Terrapin. I'll definitely be back.

As of our visit, they were not brewing, but the equipment had been purchased by the new owners and plans were being made.

In the meantime, they sat in a back corner of a mini-wall and the long, wide front had a lot of neon advertising both macro and craft beers. The double-door entryway was in the center line and a short wall was on the right with the small restaurant area was along the right side of the space. The bar was half of an octagon and the top featured coasters (!) laminated onto the top. To the left of the back bar, a two-door cooler housed 80 bottles and an extensive row of taps held 37 different including St. Bernardus Abt 12. Above the back bar ere two shelves of glassware and German steins. There were TV monitors just about everywhere one looked. Dave, the new owner, was quite enthusiastic. A hand pump existed for the irregular cask that might make its way south. Trivia was being offered on Mondays from 1900 to 2100. Lavs all of the way aft right (2nd door on left).

Best craft beer pub in Brevard County. With 40 something different beers there to try, as well as, bottled regular and craft beers to try.

Very friendly bar that will help you sample till you like exactly what you want to try.

Food was very good which I especially their Roast Beef w/horse radish sauce. My wife had their grilled chicken which was what you would expect.

But let's talk about beer. A great selection of tap beer from Bud to Chimay. Bottle beer are also very well represented.

Located just minutes from the local beach just off Eau Gaulle and A1A in Brevard County. This little hole in the wall craft brew beer pub is a MUST STOP for the real beer drinkers.

I recommend this pub.

A solid craft beer oasis, and maybe better guest tap selection than currently available in Orlando. Several really good taps, mostly from up North, and a well stocked bottle cooler. I think 100 bottles and about 35 taps, at a long bar. Selection is a winner anywhere. No drinking outside, but ambient light was good. Several tables about us, I was served in good time. The beer was served at a good temperature, the carbonation not aggressive. Had some Brooklyn and Terrapin. Not far from Indian Beach, and lots of parking.

Coasters is a decent size beer bar right around the corner from my house. The two owners are heavily involved in running the bar and one of them is also a member of the local brew club. Coasters is NOT a brew pub anymore; however, the 3bbl brew system is apparently in storage and maybe one day (only God knows when) we will get a 2nd brew pub in Brevard again.
Coasters has about 35-40 taps and something over 120 beers in bottles. Some of the taps are regulars such as the Franziskaner hefeweizen, but also some rotating taps that include always some special and sometimes even very hard to find brews on a state wide level. Stone made a visit with some guest taps and also other known micorbrews. The beer menu changes constantly and it is always great to come back and see what else they got.
The overall atmosphere is great, just the music is a little bit too loud sometimes. Food menu is also great and I highly recommend the burgers with BrewCity fries!

Coasters seems to be the good beer oasis in the area. While visiting family in Indialantic we took the short drive down to Coasters to check it out.

The sign outside proclaimed that they had SN Celebration, Anchor Christmas, St. Bernardus 12 and Shipyard Longfellow (cask) on tap. Not a bad welcoming.

The inside has a brewpub/sports bar feel to it. Lots of flat screens and lots of beeriana. Its in a strip mall near a wall-mart so I'd say they did a pretty good job of hiding that fact inside.

Coaster's has about 25 beers on tap and except for 4-5 all of them were very good. The beer list even had the BA grades next to all of the draughts and bottles.

I got some Bell's Two Hearted Ale which was served ridiculously cold. I'd say that was the only real negative. It could be worse though.

The menu was typical fried pub food. We had a soft pretzel which was decent. Our server, and all the other servers I would guess, didn't know much of anything about beer. I would imagine that the guys behind the bar probably know whats going on though.

Happy Hour is 3-7 and its about a buck of all draughts. The St. Bernardus 12 is definitely calling me back to this place. Oh yeah, you can buy liters of anything served in huge glass mugs. So, if you ever need to find a place that you can drop a $10 spot on a liter of Ruination, this is your place!

Also, from what I gather Coaster's does NOT brew their own beer anymore and is instead just a great beer bar.

Tucked away in the corner of a shopping center near the corner of A1A & Eau Gallie Blvd on the beach side of Melbourne. This place is easy to overlook and easily the best beer bar on the Space Coast. Best on the Space Coast doesn't mean a lot, since this area really lacks for good beer bars/brew pubs. That being said, this place ranks favorably
with some of the good ones I've been to around the country.

37 taps and 85 bottles for a total of 132 beers, most of them high quality beers.

The owner is a fellow BA and their beer menu contains the BA rating of all their beers.

Typical pub atmosphere prevails, long bar with coasters from the world over under the bar glass. Steins & mugs from all over on the wall in back of the bar wall. Lots of flat screen TVs everywhere.

The food, while typical pub fare is tasty, reasonably priced and served in generous sized portions. Pint prices are reasonable & they knock a buck off daily between 4-7.

Only complaint is they waste some of the taps on too many macros like PBR, Bud light, Coors Light, Mich Ultra..., but I guess this is Brevard Country & they would probably lose half their business if didn't carry the swill juice.

Overall, a great place & a must stop if you are in the Central Florida area.

A relatively small place in a sleepy Florida town hides an amazing pub. Only Sharps' Edge in Pittsburgh has a better selection of craft and Belgian beers. Any place that has Abt 12 on tap is a great place to drink. They have expanded their selection of top quality craft beers like Dogfish Head. Neither the bar or the staff is pretentious making this a very easy place to frequent with an immediately friendly feel. Enough screens to accommodate the most avid football fan. Food is simple but good enough that it doesn't detract from the beer. Coasters is a mandatory double stop when visiting my son in Melbourne.

Live around the corner from Coaster's and enjoy going in for the large and excellent selection of beers they have to offer. Every time I come in the selection increases (last I saw 120). The selection ranges from your regular light mainstream brews to American microbrews, to English and German ales to Trappist brews all at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is calm and similar to all pubs, dim, huge bar, taps against the wall. The food is good but, the service need improvement in terms of slowness. The employees however are very friendly just under staffed. Other than that I still advice everyone on going in and support your local brew pub.

New Owners Dave & Joe are bringing in a great new selection of craft & imported beers. They have 39 taps with 60 Minute, 90 Minute, Rogue Dead Guy, Bells Two Hearted and even St Bernardus Abt 12 on tap. They have another 60 bottled beers available as well. The beer list uses BA rating so the selection is top shelf. These guys are true BA'ers so it can only get better. They have many TV's and have sports of all types on everywhere and the burgers are out of this world. So if your visiting or living in the Space Coast area you need to visit.

***My wife and I recently purchased Coasters Pub along with our business partner, Joe***
Being an owner, I know that I'm not supposed to review the bar, so I am leaving my ratings and reviews from when I was merely a customer.
I will add, however, that we now have some really cool beers on tap: Dogfish Head 60 and 90 minute, St. Bernardus Abt 12, Rogue Dead Guy, Bells Two Hearted, Brooklyn Brewmaster's Reserves and more. Lots of new bottles, too. Anyways, if you stop in, please say hello!

My 2005 Review:
Beer Advocates, this is THE pub to go to in Brevard County for good beers on tap. Trust me, I've looked around.
Coasters (so named because of the hundreds of coasters embedded into the bar) has 33 beers on tap. Being Florida, it's necessary to stock the macrobrews, but look closer and find imports like Paulaner, Franzkaner, Fullers, and other German and British brews. A few taps are reserved for microbrews that rotate. I've seen numerous Shipyards, Mackeson, Sierra Nevada, and more. The food is some of the best bar sandwiches you'll see. Don't order a 'humongous' sandwich unless you have a small nation to feed. The pub itself has hundreds of steins and beer paraphanalia on the walls, as well as plenty of TVs. Football is big here. Jets and Penn State fans flock here during footballs season.

by the way...beer is no longer being brewed here. The bar owner found it too hard to be a brewmaster and run a pub.

Just to add to the previous reviews....over the taps reside probably 60 steins, most of them German, some of them official Oktoberfest mugs. Then we happened to look down at the bar and discovered about a zillion coasters (Hey, maybe that's where the NAME came from??) again almost exclusively German. More than half the taps were from Deutschland - Spaten, Hacker, Schneider... Dense as I am, I began to detect a pattern. Might the owner be German?? Turns out he spent many years there, former military probably.
Only one of their own beers on tap when we were there, the Dragon's Tooth Porter, which I will throw into the review pile, a tasty, full-bodied beer, but the bartender told me brewing occurs only at night when nobody is there "'cause people complained about the smell." Hard to believe...bunch of heathens....probably explains why this place and Charlie and Jake's are the only brewpubs around Melbourne.
Well worth a trip if you are in the area....atmosphere a little less than good due to the preponderance of Penn State fans that show up here on Saturdays in the fall, selection less than good due to lack of their own products on tap. Terrific selection if you love German beers. And though we didn't try the food, the portions we saw served were HUGE.
An update here; tried the food over the Christmas holidays, had a bratwurst with sauerkraut, and the wife had the nachos. Typical pub grub for both, but the sausage was HUGE, actually two in a big bun.
Bad news though; the bartender informed me that the owner had sold his brewing equipment very recently, and was getting out of the brewing business entirely. Too much hassle and not enough BA's in the area, apparently. Still an impressive selection of German and other beers; had the Sierra Nevada Celebration on tap, probably the ONLY place in Fla that could say that.

This is place tucked away in Grocery Store shopping plaza on A1A in Melbourne, FL. They brew 2 beers on site, but have several great beers on tap. Some of the more memorable include Fullers London Pride, Fransizkaners hefe, dunkel, Shipyard Old Thumper and a few others, about 25-30 total. That's pretty unusual for Florida. All the beers I tried were fresh and very tasty, great happy hour prices 4-7. The bartender was very imformed on every beer. Didn't try any food, but the plates I saw, the servings were huge. If your in the area, it's worth a visit.
