hows it going...
well everybody, we have some bad news. do to a sequence of uncontrollable events, at the end of the month we will be closing the doors to the copper mine. we apologize but this has been a very tough and stressful decision to make. we are very grateful and appreciative of all the awesome people who we met over the last almost 7 years. it has been a great feeling to have created a place where people like to hang out and to know people like what we do enough to have made us one of the most liked and recognized beer bars in the state. everybody has been really great and supportive of what we have done here over the past several years.
the last day will be friday june 26th. so up until then we will be running thru the last of our keg inventory, and will be tapping some great beers from the cellar. to say thank you, beers will be $2 off, most growlers will be half off and if you have a kegerator some kegs will be for sale. if you have growlers remember to bring them, we are almost out.
in closing, thank you. I hope I get to see everybody before we close. this truly has been fun and it was great meeting all of you. please keep in contact. and always remember, drink beer not labels.
cheers

Nice selection of craft beer. Regularly rotated selections, which range to satisfy everyone's taste. 24 taps or so, plus bottle selection. The decor is basic. Just a neighborhood bar from the outside, but a craft beer experience once you are inside. It tends to get a bit hot inside, so dress accordingly.

Food not sold on premises, but local delivery is allowed and encouraged.

Copper Mine looks kind of nondescript from the outside but it's got a lot going on inside. It has around 20 beers on tap. I wasn't too impressed with the bartending but it wasn't bad enough to make it my only visit. The atmosphere was pretty lively on a Saturday night. I like this type of neighborhood bar and I hope I'll be back to Copper Mine more often.

Well copper is pretty much one of my favorite beers in the area. The tap selection is always rotating and here and there something really good will show up. Bottle selection is also great but come on on your at a bar to have some good drafts. If your in the area stop by and check out Copper you will not regret it.

Luckily i work near the copper mine so i'm able to stop over once in a while. This place is great, everything that has been said in other reviews is true. Vito is a good guy and knows his stuff. Every once in a while he'll have an ageable keg from a past year, which is cool (i e weyerbacher quad 2011).
Overall, a great place for the beer enthusiast to stop and kill a few hours.

This is a place that you need to come, bring a friend or two, and see for yourself. No Food, No Frill, Just Beer and good company. It's nice to drink a beer amongst friends and enjoy something that you have never had. And then, fill up your growler and take some home too. I can't say anymore. A litter hard to get to and a bit out of the way, but makes up for it once you get there.
If you decide to try everything on draft and stay awhile, they have menus if you want to order out for delivery.

What Copper Mine Pub lacks in space and decoration, it more than makes up for in other areas. My friends and I frequent this place, at times to the tune of once a week, despite the drive. The owner, although young, seems to have a great grasp on all sorts of beer and the industry as a whole; The bartenders know the beer. Even when its crowded they are very attentive and the other patrons are beer enthusiasts such as myself. They regularly have featured brewery and/or style nights. Last but not least is location. North Arlington is a quiet, safe neighborhood.

I am going to say what has already been said. This place is not the nicest, no fancy tables or decor. It is a beer bar, if I care about fancy looking places I'll go somewhere else. The selection is top notch and the service is great. I do not get a chance to head over here more often but when I do, there is always GREAT beer there. I like how on special nights there is a write up of some of the beers to help me aid in making a choice. No food, but the local beef jerky is amazing. Prices are pretty fair, I mean this is North Jersey here, LL's are expensive. In short, you will not be dissapointed with this place.

My first impression was the aroma, the sweet smell of beer as you open the door. That's how you know they serve true beer and not some macro bullshit. It's nice to see everyone drinking out of the proper glassware. Boy, was this place busy for just a little after 12 a.m. on a Thursday night - I think Dogfish Head Tap Takeover had something to do with that.

The bar looks beat to hell, old and has that hole-in-the-wall bar feel to it - not impressed with the atmosphere at all. The lights were quite dim and hard to appreciate the color of the beer. It seemed a little run down and dirty. It was over-crowded, it is not their fault that the whole bar crowd decided to stand instead of relax at the bar or the tables against the wall. I felt like I was at a concert trying to push my way through the mob to get to the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom - digusting, old and decrepit looking.

They had a sign of what they had on tap; what seemed ridiculous is they couldn't erase or cross out what kegs they had kicked on the chalk board. Don't advertise what you don't have.

The lines seemed very clean as the beer tasted fresh. The customer service was okay, the bartender was constantly checking his phone but he did serve me a beer when I needed it which is always good.

As far as the place goes, about a dollar more than most of the beers should be. I didn't go during happy hour since I got there late. I am going to give this place another shot but I'm going to go earlier on during the day when its not so hectic. I hope I can give this place a better rating like everyone else who have.

Love it. Simply love it. Just a great bar for beer nuts. Look, I'm not paying for atmosphere. I don't care what songs are on the juke box. And who has time to prep food when the beer is this good? Vito and Company have done a great job. If you're a new beer enthusiast, this is the place for you as the staff is friendly and will answer any questions. If you're a seasoned vet, this is the place for you as the beer selection and beer chat are second to none. Go there. You won't be disappointed!

The Copper Mine is by the the best place to get good quality craft beer in NJ. Vito is an awesome host and the beer always tastes great. The lines are always clean and the selection is never the same. 20 lines and usually a cask or two with a great bottle selection. Everything you have read about this place is true, you need to make your way there if you have never been. After the first time you visit you will make it a regular thing. It is that good. Great atmosphere, great people, great beer its the complete package.

The Copper Mine Pub. I can finally check it off the list of places that I need to check out in my area.

All of the reviews thus far have been great. I had to see for myself to believe it.

The first thing I notice when I walk in. The taps. AMAZING selection. I usually go to the city for the best selection when I go out for beers, but this rivaled any place in the area. Incredible- all styles, breweries, and prices are included here. Something truly for any beer lover.

I went on a Sunday so it was kind of dead, but I am glad I got to speak with Vito for a bit. He appeared to be a really cool down to earth guy who truly knows his beer. The vibe was nice. Beer lovers, yes. Assholes, none that I could see.

The bottles were amazing (although I did not purchase any). The taps just hooked me right in.

I'm coming back. Like, this week. I loved it. Destroys any bar in the area.

If you've read any of the reviews of this place, people come from miles and miles to check out CMP.

THE BEST BEER BAR IN JERSEY.

Seriously, it is. Prices, Selection, Vibe, everything you could want in a beer bar.

Vito always has great stuff on tap and the weekly Thursday events are awsome as well.

The bottle list is solid, but you probably wont need a bottle when you come here because you wont want to pass on anything he has on draft.

Rarely any beer costs more than 7$ and if it does, its a rarity that you'd actually want to pay for. Great value with growler service as well. I tell everyone I know about this place because I'm so lucky to live only 10 minutes away. Constantly picking up growlers for different BA's that cant get down the the events because the kegs he gets, nobody else seems to be able to get them in Jersey.

If youre passing through, or looking for good beer, its worth a stop at Copper Mine.

Great selection of rotating taps with tons of bottled beer and hard liquor. Seasonal beers and weekly events are always great reasons for someone to stop in and have a few, but they aren't the only reasons one ought to come in.

It is simply invigorating to see such an existence amidst a slew of mediocre bars with the familiar faces plastered on taps.

Excellent. Truly a place for beer drinkers.

A+ even though a drunken old man couldn't control his flatulence and made it a bit difficult to enjoy my beers to their fullest.

This is easily the best beer bar in Northern New Jersey. 20 taps that rotate constantly and there's always something for everyone. Vito, the owner, and Matt, the only employee, know their beer and know how to treat a customer right. There's no food but there is a stack of menus, just like a few other good New Jersey beer bars.

Great place to meet up with other craft beer lovers. Nice younger crowd as far as beer bars go, mostly mid 20's to maybe 40. Great special brewery nights where at least half of the taps are dedicated to 1 brewery and there's usually something ultra rare on tap during those. There's a homebrewer night once a month where you can meet up with some local homebrewers and talk shop and trade and taste. Stop in and chat up Vito and Matt about some obscure Jazz and try a beer from a brewery you've never heard of. Overall just a solid beer bar.

Prices are about what you'd expect $5-7 and if they were going to be more its usually reduced to an 8oz pour on higher alcohol and rarer beers to keep the price in that same range. Nice selection of rare and current limited release bottles(sink the bismark and tactical nuclear penguin are both available)

Coppermine Pub is the best place for quality beer in the Northeast. Sound like an exaggeration? It's not. If it's beer you're after, you'll find the most dynamic and ever-revolving selection in North Arlington, NJ.

Vito is the man and is always mixing it up. Whether it be different styles and varieties to special casks to in-house brewery reps showing off their latest brews, there's always another reason to stop in.

Beers generally range from $5-7 with happy hour prices $1 off everything. No food, which can be a drawback when you need something to munch on, but the place is completely open to bringing in your own food and will even set-up delivery for you.

in an area dominated with bars carrying miller light, bud light, coors light and amstel, sometimes both in bottles and on tap, the copper mine pub is a sought after destination for those of us who prefer, well, really great beer.

while i do not live near the copper mine pub, whenever im passing through the area, i make it a point to stop in for a couple pints, knowing im most likely going to have beer ive never had the pleasure of sampling on tap. the selection is constantly changing with seasonal-appropriate beers. owner vito and barkeep matt are extremely friendly and knowledgable about beer and, well, lots of other things. they make you feel right at home.

i wish copper mine pub all the best for continued success, and i cant wait for the late fall/early winter releases to hit the taps.

Consistant anway, in that they always deal me a last minute call or text, am I good to meet up somewhere somewhen? And yes, I make an effort to juggle and rejuggle and yes, I can. They, on the heels of a wedding the night before landing them local enough to entertain. Mike & Vida on a Saturday afternoon, with BooBoo Alexander (Kid Rodenbach) in tow...

A small single room that serves its purpose. Off to the left, a straight with an angled jut on the end, black laminate top bar with a wood lip and piping foot rail. Seating for 8 on backed bar stools that are either too low, or the bar itself is too high, we think the latter. Barback wall holds large framed mirrors mostly obstructed, over a center wood unit counter. 2 row towers of 10 each with a center specials boards in between. Large street standup signboard stands atop listing tap selections. Fatty mugs, weisse glasses, baby yard glasses, maybe foot glasses, too, not sure (or is that feet?), and some wines displayed. Stacked glassware below on center and to the sides. Stand up glass front coolers on each end with books & bottles and this (also, that) atop, and more in the way of wood unit pieces on the outsides holding tiered booze. A single handpump on the end of the bar, nothing currently up although I've seen it alive and thrive on other occasions.

Red cement walls over wood slat lowers all around. Floor tilings and serious old pressed tin ceiling, beige with a single spinny fan on center and a few rows of track spots. Neons & lamps in the front windows over window sills below lined with guest bottles, sadly empty, and brewery placards & tins and light boards on the far wall. A large foamboard pic of a stray patron over the barback seriously needs to come down or be relocated to somewhere I can't accidentally have to look at it. Flatscreen above the bar to one side and another on the opposite wall. Mirrors & coolers are sticker plastered, mostly of the brewery variety. 7 mix & match tables of different lengths extend from the far wall in pairs or solo and something in the way of a food prep area to the rear, although I've never seen it active and I know you can bring in from the local fooderies .

20 taps, heavily local/regional oriented (Defiant Muddy Creek Lager, Hefe, Pils, Barleywine & Maibock no doubt on the heels of a very recent Defiant event, Weyerbacher Juliet Double Alt & Verboten Belgian Pale Ale, Victory Bottoms Up Brown Ale, Troegs Hopback Amber, Erie Ol' Red Cease & Desist, Otter Creek Pale Ale, Smutty Impy Stout, Allagash White, Gritty McDuffs Vacationland Summer, DogFishHead Pangea, Flying Dog Coffee Stout), plus an token equal opportunity other coaster (Bear Republic Crazy Ivan IPA), and a smattering of imports (Spaten Lager, Unibroue Ephemere, Jenlain Ambree). I drank the Defiant Muddy Creek Lager as I do like it quite a bit. Beer's in good shape, no probs there.

And, bottles, 50+, an assortment of stuff, nearly 2/3 of which are US craft entries nearish (Captain Lawrence, Defiant, Ithaca, Weyerbacher, Victory, DogFishHead, Ipswich, Gearys), far (Jolly Pumpkin, Founders, Great Divide, Oskar Blues, Avery, Atwater, Schlafly), and further farther (Elysian, Green Flash, the Bruery, Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, Stone, Anchor). The remainder are a mix of above average imports; 7 Belgians of the most unusual suspect (Cantillon Vigneronne & Kriek, Fantome BBB Dark White Saison, De Ranke XX Bitter, Caracole Nostradamus & Saxo, Watou Tripel), another 4 from Norway (Haandbryggeriet Wild Thing, Norse Robust Porter, Aquavit Barrel Aged Porter, Odin's Tipple), 6 Germs, and single stray soldiers from Italy, Scotland & England respectively. Looking at that bottle list, you can tell it's no distributor shove on. No, it was put together by somebody who knows what they're doing.

Not the biggest joint, but does very well with what space there is. Shooting the shit with (owner) Vito, a good kid who very kindly offered to refill the baby's bottle bag. We're now talking... beer, of all things, he knows what he likes and that's what he sells; they ain't pimping crap beer here. With Mike, Vida & Baby Alexander now gone, I'm solo to dig into a Haandbryggeriet Wild Thing of smoke, berry & crazy, and wow. And fades in, that Eno tune I love (Another Green World), all a minute 42 of it, just perfect...

Not too many places in NJ like Copper Mine. Great selection in a laid back, casual and relaxed atmosphere. Always something interesting on tap, and great brewery events...at least one or two per month...recently had an Allagash event, that I unfortunately missed. No food on premise, but Vito (one of the owner's) let's you order in from local restaurants. Believe he has some thoughts of opening his own kitchen, but not certain.

This place is very casual and unpretentious. All beers are very reasonably priced. Vito takes pride in his selection...wish I could make it there more often!

Another reason I love this place is that there is usually something on cask.

Went there last night for the first time to check out "Ithaca Beer Night" This place is a beer lovers dream. Obviously owned and run by people who appreciate great craft beer. I think the thing I liked most was that from my seat at the bar, you had to actually had to search for anything from BMC. Banners, neon, coasters, etc. from the "big guys" were non-existent.
Great place to go for great beer. Also liked the fact that you can bring your own food. We actually had pizza delivered.
A partial listing of last nights taps from what I remember(looks like they rotate on a weekly basis:
Ramstein Eisbock
Southampton Double White
McSorleys Black Lager
River Horse Hop-a-lot-amus
Ithaca White Gold
Dogfish Head Aprihop
Some smuttynose stuff

Definitely stop by if you're in the area.
