As far as liquor stores go, i've seen worse. The area wasn't that bad either.
Walk in, first thing I see is Jolly Pumpkin Bam and Fuego, and some obscure Belgian 750 "Mons". Getting further in, there's fresh Tallgrass 8-Bit and Ethos, a month fresher than the other stores we stopped at. Granted there was some FW Double Jack covered in dust, but that was a pretty common sight before they started bottle dating. More gems like Tyranena Shaggin in the Wood, Founders RIS, FW Velvet Merlin, and others. Plenty of quality stuff, though it's not a huge selection.
Prices were a dollar or two less than other stores, and the clerk asked if we were looking for any specific beers, and complimented our selections. Overall worth a stop, not a bad place, though it's much smaller than Cardinal across town.

I've been in here many times.
The beer is located immediately on the right as you walk into the store... Lots of dusty bottles. The best thing about this place was that no one went there for craft, so they had some decent stuff getting dusty on shelves.
2008 Behemoth was $12.29 per bomber back when they had 30 or so bottles on shelves about a year ago. I blame myself for spreading the word, as it slowly jumped up to $15.99 per over the course of a few months. Then it sold out.... Along with any of the other beer worth buying from this store.
The beer has been picked clean, and now the shop isn't really getting anything good in anymore. They do still carry a bunch of craft brands, but nothing really sells a lot, so therefore it's old.
The fact that it's in a sketchy neighborhood doesn't help much either. Be careful about flashing any cash after dark. I know several people that have been robbed outside this store!

Well, I have known this place for about 10 years now (for as long as I have lived in Joliet). Always loved the name but never had any reason to stop in as there are a couple other liquor stores closer to my house, but that was before I really got into craft beer. Actually, I would never have thought this place would carry any craft beer but I heard some rumors on Beer Advocate so I decided to check it out and see for myself.
Gotta love the name..."Stang Kelly"...this is your old style liquor store...kind of reminds me of the liquor store from American Graffiti! Anyhow, on to the beer...
Walking in directly to your left you will see the aisle of craft beer. About 25 ft of shelving...already more than I expected. The first aisle is mainly Bombers and a few 750 Ml's. The other side has your 6'ers and a couple of 12'ers from Goose Island. The selection is decent and has the Midwest breweries covered. For this type of place this is perfect. It's not going to get a lot of craft beer nerds so cover the Midwest staples....Founders, Three Floyds, Goose Island, Bells & Dark Horse. WOW! Is that an '08 Behemoth by 3 Floyds?! Sure is! And dust to boot...just like I would expect to find in a cellar. I'll grab that...
Anyway, you're not going to find much East Coast or West Coast beers but you will find most of the staples in the Midwest. You'll also find Stone from the West Coast and some Southern Tier from the East Coast but that is about it for the coasts. Prices seem to be reasonable..actually some are cheaper than what you will find at say Binny's or Cardinal.
If you are in Joliet this is a nice little place to check out and get some of your favorites.

Wow! I havent been to this joint in about 7 years. I went here with a friend to buy acouple of tall boys for the fathers day car show in down town Joliet. Well the same friend stop here recently after leaving harris before coming to my house. He couldnt belive the selection they had so had to check it out.
There craft beer selection is a nice one for a ghetto liquor store in Joliet. This place isnt bad its just not in the best part of town. So soon as you walk in the door you will see the craft beer. The only bad thing I noticed were the bottles on the shelf are extremely dust! I dont think they were old bottle its just that no one ever cleans them.
Service was ok. I didnt talk to the cashier but I did talk to the stock boy. He was helpful and new alittle bit bout craft beer.
The selection was ok. They have your big brewers and some mid-west brewers. FFF, DFH, Great Lakes, and Left Hand ect. Alot of beers on the shelf and a decent amount of beer in the cooler.
For value I went with inexpensive. I didnt look at every price tag but I did notice a couple of things were cheaper hear than Binny's and Cardinal thats located down the street.
Overall its not a bad place. Check it out some time if you dont mind dusty bottles!

I have visited this place several times over the past few months.
This place is located right on Jefferson in Joliet. Parking is dicey as they only have a handful of parking spaces on the side of the building.
When you enter, the beer is immediately to the right, with a 2 sided low shelving island of warm beers and across an aisle is half a dozen cooler doors behind which are six packs and a few bombers/750ml offerings.
Selection is ok, actually pretty solid for a place in the middle of Joliet. I usually see some solid offerings from regional and nationally respected craft breweries (FFF, DFH, Goose Island, Founder's, etc). They also have a few Belgian imports and a handful of Unibroue beers. My only quality issue is that I have bought some pretty old/oxidized beers form this place. Like many stores, the Miller Lite moves a lot more than the craft beer.
Service is non-existent but that is expected and thus not a worry in this place.
All in all its not a beer destination, but if you live in/near Joliet this place can be handy in a pinch!
