8 oz tap pour into an American Tumbler at Water Street Brewery
A - Clear deep amber with no action. Very low, almost no head on the pour. Just a ring. No lacing at all.
S - Brown sugar bubblegum with an incredibly light hint at spicy pumpkin...wtf? This doesn't smell like a pumpkin beer at all.
T - Sweet vanilla with an awkward spiciness not resembling a pumpkin beer at all. Floral too. Brown sugar all over the place, it tastes like a vanilla-like air freshener. So far off from a pumpkin beer it's incredible. No pumpkin flavor. [The bartender said last year it was too pumpkin-flavored so they cut back this year. "Cut back" or "eliminated?"]
M - Light-bodied, crisp, and low spicy-sweet. Awkward finish that could be from the coriander spicing [Yes, coriander. Certainly an interesting spice to use in a pumpkin beer] with a lingering sweetness. Watery with a carbonation bite to the end.
D - Well, it's not awful for a "beer" but to call it a pumpkin beer is just outrageous. There's no pumpkin beer resemblance here. Things just don't line up right.
Serving type: on-tap
