Visited in a recent trip to Milwaukee.

An interesting place in the water street bar area. The bar/restaurant is quite large and very rustic looking. The tap list was about 10 strong, most of which were fairly tame offerings with the exception of an IPA and a "black lager." I was in the mood for a stout or porter and was disappointed to not see either style represented despite about 10 taps being offered. I had the pale ale, which I found to be very average, if not below average. My friends ordered a munich lager and it was pretty good.

Prices were reasonable but considering how ridiculously cheap beer is on all of water street during happy hour, it was disappointing to see no happy hour special here.

Didn't have food. The service was friendly yet describing their pale as a "Sierra Nevada clone" was more than just a little bit misleading...

Not sure that I would return but worth checking out once. (916 characters)

Pretty standard bar scene (at their downtown location). Fairly nice waitstaff and a fairly wide selection of beers. Unfortunately, ever single one of their beers was... bad. Its pretty rare for me to leave anything in a taster in a flight of beers. The 8 I tried tonight (their standard 6 plus two seasonals, the Black IPA and the Flanders Brown) were bad, every single one. I didn't finish a single sample (I think the IPA is the only one I made it halfway through). Almost every beer tasted under-attenuated and every beer had at least one fairly glaring fault. (563 characters)

This is for their Grafton location. Been coming here for business for a few years and the fantastic food and service keeps me coming back. Being 100 meters from my hotel does not hurt either. Their beer has evolved to where I can drink and actually enjoy it now. IPA is a bit bitter but this make their black IPA a beautiful thing. Bright and airy feel with great bartenders makes it relaxing any season. Worth a stop. (428 characters)

It is basically bar food - cheese curds, scotch eggs, burgers and the like. The beer is decent but there is a lot of the light stuff. All and all its worth a stop. (163 characters)

Low key interior with a personal feel and touch of personality. Not too loud, which was nice. Staff are friendly, but the restaurant is self serve... Not a great choice if you want a real sit down meal.

Food is home style pub food with a bit of a twist. I missed the homemade pretzels, but my schnitzel sandwich was good. Garlic-parm fries were just fries dusted with some store bought shake. On the bright side my asian salad had fresh orange segments rather than from a can.

Beers are OK (a bit thin and mostly one dimensional), with limited selection (5 on tap) but they have great prices.

Mediocre overall. (616 characters)
