Appearance: Pours with a finger and a half of slightly off white head. Light ruby red color with some rusty brown notes. Active carbonation is below average for the style. Sticky random lacing left behind at each level.

Smell: Caramel and sugary toffee right away. Herbal hops, vegetal notes with some slight bitterness on the undertones. Rich sugary malts with some ashy aromas linger on to the back end.

Taste: What you'd expect after the aroma. The biggest players are sugary malts and lingering molasses and caramel. Vegetal flavors with a touch of hop bitterness on the back end rounds it out.

Mouthfeel: Creamy, slick texture on the palate makes this a pretty drinkable beer. The earthy notes linger. Carbonation is low but works.

Overall: A decent amber. Nothing overly complex but a nice change of pace beer or good for a lesser knowledgeable drinker to try and learn the style.

(Served in a bow tie glass)

A- This beer pours a slightly dense aged copper body with soft peaks of beige head with lots of big bubbles on top. There is a few big bubbles of carbonation working to the surface.

S- The slightly dry nougat quality grows into a toast and cracker malt aroma but still stays pretty soft.

T- The dry toasted malt note leads to a bit more biscuit malt. There is a hint of tartness to the hop flavor in the finish which is slightly dry and a soft bitterness lingers.

M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a gentle fizz that grows a bit in the finish.

O- This beer has a nice dry malt character but the bitterness, which is really boosted by the carbonation, overpowers the malt. The bitterness does die down as the carbonation does.
