An assertively hoppy top-fermented beer, polished by the wisdom and patience of lagering. Think of it as an octogenarian with a punk rock attitude. Slightly dry, this beer pairs well with hearty cuisine. We also suggest sipping it on its own; the complexity will keep you entertained and happy.

I poured this 12 oz. bottle into a stange glass. No freshness dating.
A: clear medium amber color, persistent cream-colored head that only very slowly falls into a cap, excellent lacing, and a never-ending stream of effervescent carbonation.
S: Germanic yeast funk, a bit of citrus zest, the hops range from floral to earthy to a little bit herbal.
T: the malt flavor is fairly dry and bread-like with an almost rye-like zestiness, the Germanic earthiness develops in the middle, along with a pleasant citrus crispness and a subtle nutty flavor, the finish is decidedly herbal with hints of floral and earthy hops as well. Let this beer warm a bit and you will fall for its charms.
M: light-bodied, lightly silky texture, abundant carbonation.
O: a very tasty and good-looking offering from my hometown boys, Metropolitan Brewing. This would be a great beer with a plate of Brats and cole slaw.

Its named iron works for a reason. Hop choice makes this brew rather metallic tasting.

Pours a clear, copper color. 3/2 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and decent lacing. Smells of pale malt, dough, sweet malt, caramel malt, slight citrus hops, hint of yeast, hint of pepper, and slight rye. Fits the style of an Altbier. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of caramel malt, pale malt, slight sweet malt, hint of rye, slight hops, hint of dough, and slight alcohol. Overall, good appearance, decent aroma, body, and blend. A slightly sweet and boozy altbier.
