American Pale Ale (APA) |  5.60% ABV

Notes/Commercial Description:
You have never felt more Alive! A lineup of domestic malts, hops and yeast make a malty beer with a big hop finish and great drinkability. Picture Abraham Lincoln eating a hot dog filled with apple pie filling while watching a baseball game to get an idea of the pure Americana we are pouring. Do NOT tread on US! Our version of the American Pale Ale is medium bodied and copper colored. As per style, the flavor and aroma is centered around the citrusy and pine character of American hops with caramel-like malt flavors and fruity esters from the ale yeast playing a supporting role.

at tap at brew pub.

Copper color and hazy, as expected. Off-white head has poor retentionn but leaves some lacing.

The aroma is quite subtle, but fruity and malty. This has a much stronger flavor (3.75) than the aroma suggests, with a good hop load not obvious in the smell. The hops provide a fe finsih and lasting, moderately bitter, aftertaste..

Medim-light body; a tad under-carbonated.

O: disappointing appearance (especially head) and aroma, but ultimately a decent APA.

Pours a clear, copper color. 3/4 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of hops, slight citrus, and slight sweet malt. Fits the style of an American Pale Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level; also slightly watery. Tastes of hops, slight grain, caramel, sweet malt, and hint of citrus. Overall, the taste makes up for any hindrance caused by the watery mouth feel.

A: Light dark copper color but still clear enough to see through. Light head around one inch thick.

S: Sweet malty aroma with hints of floral hops.

T: Very crisp. Hints of caramel and malts keep the taste balanced. But the hop bitterness is still enough to satisfy.

M: Not to heavy. With light to medium carbonation.

D: Very drinkable. Nice session beer.

Appearance: Clearish, medium brown body with a thin, wispy, white head.

Smell: Toasty, lightly grainy malt aroma with some sweetish hints to it. English hops deliver a reasonably floral, spicy scent with a note of day old lemon zest.

Taste: Upfront blend of pale malts, sweet caramel, and a minor hint of grain. Spicy, floral, lightly citrusy hops jump in and bring about a medium bitterness. A touch of breadiness comes and goes. A light bitterness remains for the drying finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: A pleasant pale. Just as I was down for Real Ale using Czech Saaz hops in their Rio Blanco Pale Ale, I'm down for Terminal mixing things up by using EKG hops in their Terminally Ale.

Serving type: on-tap
