Appearance: Pale orange with white head. Decent lacing and retention.

Smell: Fruity and alcohol. Bitterness rounds out the aroma.

Taste: Follows the smell. I'm not too impressed with the hop array they've assembled here. I'm not sure that el dorado and cascade hops really complement each other. That and the bitterness is just too much for this beer. malt backing is just too pale/basic 2 rowish to complement the hop profile.

Mouthfeel: medium body. good amount of carbonation.

overall: this leaves much to be desired for a fresh hop ale. this beer doesn't really showcase the aroma and juiciness of fresh hops. even without the essense of fresh hops this beer also lacks quality IPA qualities such as a flavorful malt back and a more drinkable taste. I'd pick up a different fresh hop bomber if you have the chance because this one is just another IPA. You know, like that random IPA from that random brewpub you went to but wouldn't go back to again.

Label says this is brewed with El Dorado AND Cascades... The Trip X used only El Dorado.

Picked this up at the COOP today... Pours with a nice long lasting 1 finger of foamy white head... the brew is hazy golden orange.

Nose shows a grassy/fruity element that reminds me of ripe pears.... There is also some background citrus from the cascades... pale malty sweetness is present, but just as an essence.

Decent bitterness reminds you this is intended to be an IPA... Hop flavors are more of a tropical fruit essence... a bit of pear is also there... the bitterness sorta bites right up to the finish... maybe a bit too much residual maltiness for my palate, the light malty sweetness I believe mutes the hops a little.

Body is a solid medium... good bubbles.

Not bad... not great... but pretty tasty.. I would buy this again as long as I can get it fresh.

Bomber poured into my Samuel Smith imperial pint glass. Appearance is pale orange with a small white head leaving nice sticky lace, great patterns.

Smell is pretty dank hops, heavy on the fruity side, but some resin as well. Cantaloup seems to be the most prominent descriptor that comes to mind, must be the El Dorado hops I'm unfamiliar with, I'm digging the melon.

Taste is a bit more resinous, but still mostly fruity. I think the robust bitterness is accentuating the resin, but this one is really lots of tropical hops, with a smidge of pale maltiness.

Mouthfeel is dry, sticky, medium light bodied.

Drinkability is pretty high, I'm liking the hop profile and lighter malt body. Just a touch to bitter for my taste. Could use a little less residual malt sugar as well. Something about the intensity of the orangish fruity melon hops slowed me down quite a bit the last 1/3rd.

22oz bottle poured into a large mug. Fridge temp. If there's a bottle code, I didn't see it.

Pours cloudy orangey-amber. Medium sized, slightly coarse head. Cloudiness obscures any visible carbonation that might be occurring. Smell is grassy, vaguely citrus, some honeysuckle and flowers.

Taste is more bitter than I was expecting from the smell, but not bad. Not as much of the flowery/honeysuckle character as I was hoping for. Bitterness comes across as lemon zest to me.

Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Overall, this is a quite nice beer.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a fine two finger off-white head with great retention and lots of lacing. Nice aroma of tropical fruit, watermelon, grassy hops. Flavor is stone and tropical fruit, grassy and citrus hops. Nice neutral malt body fully supports and displays the hop elements. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A nice addition to the Trip series. These two breweries are good collaborative partners. The malt body shows off the distinctive El Dorado fruitiness and relatively high alpha oils. The addition of Cascade gives a pleasant citrus boost. I really enjoyed this IPA and would get it again if it wasn't a one-shot production.

A - Murky, but bright, copper. Near white full head leaves fast to ring. Lots of cling.

S - Grapefruit first, then comes the malt.

T - Grapefruit, HUGE malty goodness, follow by more grapefruit.

M - Medium body, nice malt coating, good balance and carb.

D - An easy bomber to finish.
