Shared a bottle with my beer nerd pals on a nice Memorial weekend closure on the deck.
Appearance is a dark brown with slight purple tint. Smell is what I love. The infamous horse blanket / barnyard smell is in full effect here. The smell really got me excited for this beer.
The taste was solid but a little bit of a let down. It was extremely funky but nothing really blowing me away here. Not really sour or tart at all. Solid Belgian style beer with noticeable funk.
Overall this was a decent wild ale and was at a good price point on sale ($8.99). Worth under $10 a bottle if you can find it.

Went to my beer guru's house for a snobbery session and he broke this one out. The taste did not march up to the look and smell but this was a very good beer. It is definitely got a little horse blanket working and is definitely funky. Overall I enjoyed the beer very much and would love to have again.

On tap for the 2014 Los Angeles Vegan Beer Festival held in West Hollywood, CA.
Pours an almost opaque super dark brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, fruit, plastic, and chemical aromas. Taste is much the same with fruit and plastic flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer that has odd plastic and chemical qualities all around.
