Into a Duvel tulip, pours what is initially a large, white, soapy head atop a vibrant golden body. Problem is the head dies down quickly and doesn't return easily. *tsk* *tsk*

Floral aromas overall, with yeasty spices, some of that coriander referenced on the label, and hints of rock candy. Also detecting some orange, citrus, and pilsner malts. Intensity is between moderate and strong.

The flavors are where it gets complicated...I mean, interesting. Flavors of spice, sharp hops, candy, and, of course the coriander. There's glory here, but with virtually no IMPACT. I can taste it all, but I can't taste it well.

Mouthfell is thin/light and mildly silky.

Overall, I understand why this isn't presently among the top 20 or even top 50 of the tripels on BA. It's good drinking, make no mistake. Regarding comparable tripels it's probably closest to Tripel Karmeliet with its flavor profile, but TK packs a bit more of a punch than this, NB's Trippel.

Appearance:
Deep golden hay body is clear with a bit of fine sediment in suspension. a Decent white head with okay retention and little to no lacing.

Aroma:
Bold and sweet. Blast of spice hits the nose right away along with plenty of Belgian yeast character and esters. Earthy hops. A hint of hay and sweet corn, polished of by coriander and a spot of lavender.

Taste:
Follows the nose well, with a healthy dose of earthy hops right up front with honey and coriander playing supporting roles. An almost sour yeast ester is present with some light pepper. Finishes with a noticeable amount of alcohol.

Mouthfeel:
A fairly heavy body for the style and moderate carbonation. Semi-sweet finish.

Overall:
A solid beer, although a bit too heavy for style. Great flavor and well worth trying, just don't expect it to be a good companion for a hot day.

A: poured into a snifter to a pale orange that's almost yellow topped by a small white head that is quick to fade
S: smells of corriander and fruity esters
T: taste is spicy yeast, corriander, fruity esters, some honey sweetness and cracker malt flavor. swallow is a whirlwind of flavors with more fruity esters, spices, slight alcohol, and pale malt
M: this beer sits at the lighter side of medium with abundant and prickly carbonation and a drying finish
O: New Belgium has always done pretty well with the belgian styles and this beer is no exception. this beer has great flavors and solid balance

Coriander and spices in the smell and taste. Good color. Clear and perfect golden clear. Not much of a fan of trippels yet. Reminds me again of ciders or champagne , dry after taste. No alcohol taste what so ever, which is good. almost has a sticky mouth feel. after a couple sips now I get an alcohol warming sensation. Nothing really Popping out for me though. This beer would be good at a campfire or fireside , sharing it with somebody, maybe your dog or who ever.
