A - Above the crystal clear pale yellow beer rests a rocky white head, fed by persistent carbonation, that leaves heavy lace on the glass for a feast for the eyes that makes the mouth water!
S - Light floral aromatics waft into the nostrils, followed by suggestions of candied lemon peel and a subtle backbone of grainy pale malted barley. Sure, the aroma is distant but its also bright and refreshing opening up with soft earthy Belgian yeast characteristics as the beer warms.
T - Simplistic pale malt offers a grainy intro that perfectly bows out to light floral hops, a touch of fresh-squeezed lemony tartness, and aromatically similar touch of soft Belgian yeast.
M - Bright and refreshing, it's hard to ask for a more crisp, clean beer than New Belgium's Spring Blonde. The slightly grainy initial feel washes away with perfect carbonation, only to fade out with just a touch of dry bitterness for the ultimate refreshing balance.
O - New Belgium's Spring Blonde might not have a ton of malt flavor. Its also light on the hoppiness, though floral aspects emerge. It doesn't even come straightforward with its Belgian yeast nuances but, what Spring Blonde does have is exceptional balance among these attributes. The finished product has just enough flavor to command interest but not enough to make multiple beers a chore - this one is a crisp and refreshing for an easy drinking, well-crafted experience.
