The appearance was a decent looking clear golden amber color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute in a concave fashion leaving a fair amount of clingy foamy lacing at the top of the beer. The smell had a decent light grassy and somewhat citrus-esque aromas circling underneath my nose. The taste was mainly sweet but had a fairly decent bitter flavoring coating my taste buds. There is a decent sticky sweet citrus aftertaste leading to a refreshing and could be construed as watery finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty light carbonation running underneath. Overall, I say this was a pretty good APA to have again.

Lightly hopped ale, orange / amber in color, medium creamy head. Aroma is light, predominantly malt. Taste is where the hops come in, but add just a small amount of bitterness. Malt again on the finish. easy drinker, refreshing on a hot day, but watch out for the elevated ABV.

Pour is pitch black in color with 1 finger of thick kaki head and plenty of lace on the glass
Smell is both crisp and hoppy with roasted malts and dark chocolate. Usually you don't get both. I find myself wondering if I will like this.
Taste follows well with hoot notes and citrus typical of an IPA followed by the toasty malt flavors associated with a stout. It's interesting how well the flavors separate and identify themselves. Unique in my experience.
Overall worth a try if your experimenting or looking for something new but not a true IPA or Stout. I like the bold flavor with little boozyness. Very cool brew.

Perfect when fresh. Nice balanced hop nose and flavor with the perfect malty-oat backbone. Yum. And likely sessionable.
Had this fresh and hoppy, then after on for a while and though different, liked both times. Smoother and a nice malt balance when not fresh.

I enjoy NB's 'almost macro' brews and thought this would be good...WRONG!!This is not a good beer...like chewing on a handful of stale hops and a sip took 2 good beers to wash away.

A moderate pour from a bomber into a shaker pint produces a one inch head of frothy, sticky head. The beer is a pale amber with moderate carbonation.
One whiff tells me this is a hop bomb- flowers, hay and pine. The flavor is a bit more moderate, with citrus notes accentuated, and allows a nice caramelly malt base to shine through. Frothy and fairly moderate mouth feel. Floral hop notes linger on the tongue.
This is a decent pale that will appeal to hop heads. I prefer less of an in-your-face flavor, and really think some subtlety would up my marks a bit. I think the bomber cost 4-something.
