Appearance - Pours an amber/copper with a finger of bubbly white head.

Smell - piney and citrus hops, pine resin, caramalts, touch of tropical fruits.

Taste - Initially hit the moderate bitterness of the piney and citrus hops, pine resin and then goes into the sweetness of the caramalts, and tropical fruits.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes dry with the sweetness of the caramalts and moderate bitterness from the caramalts.

Overall - A pleasant APA collab. This definitely has the pleasant bitterness and the supporting malt backbone the style is known for. No major complaints with this one. Glad to see more New Belgium offerings here in Cowtown.

22oz bottle best by 8/31/14 poured into a pint glass
A: Pure orange color with a one-finger head
S: Fresh hoppy notes- citrus rind (orange/lemon), pine and grass; a hint of malt
T: More malty but keeps the freshness and citrus notes from the nose
M: Medium-bodied, a bit of weight from the malt
O: A very solid APA, true to the style, a touch heavier in malt than hops; recommended

Stunning clear amber, with a dense and small cap of white foam. Suds are left all over the glass leaving an impressive and attractive trail following the decent retention.

Caramel malt, rather sweet but not dense or over done. Floral hops with a backing of citrus. Subtle lime, dried mangoes and red fruit esters.

Solid caramel and bready malt with just a twinge of vanilla and coffee grounds, backbone is a page out of Odell Brewing's 5 Barrel EPA but the hops here are much more in focus. Tangerine, pineapple, light mango with a grassy and floral finish. Medium bitterness with a citrus pith and grassy finish that leads to some drying and minimal alcohol.

Smooth carbonation and a medium body but very full feeling over the palate or an APA. Very complete with the bitterness leading to a nice drying feel. Alcohol warmth is kept low.

Ah FOCO, how nostalgic, it's where my journey into craft began. A great integration between elegant malt and just enough hop variance to keep the craft drinker's attention. A good beer for the summer season especially for a cool night in some mountains or the northern states. Cheers to NB and Odell, keep it up guys.
