On tap at Whole Foods in Lincoln Park. Served in a snifter.
Appears much like La Folie, substantial lighter brown body with a one finger white head. Good retention. No lacing. Smells quite a bit like La Folie; sour acidity and tartness dominate the nose with a good amount of oak and lactic acid. The cherries come out more as it warms. On the palate, the cherries are more present and there is a bit of cherry tartness to it, not so much cherry skin or cherry juice, but more of the tartness rather than sweetness. The Oscar base seems to have a fair amount of sweetness to it anyway, so it works well. Mouthfeel is thinner bodied, nice acidity level and a solid sipper. Overall, it's a pretty solid sour from New Belgium. I preferred the Coffee version since it was a more of an unique undertaking, but this is a better beer overall. Good stuff.
