dark with lovely ruby highlights. darkish tan head with good lacing down the side, but it dies really quickly.
malty sweet and fruity smell with the raspberries popping (smells like raspberry juice) and the malt giving a smooth cocoa-like aroma.
taste has two competing things going on, tho they meld nicely. the sweet raspberry blends with a milky, chocolaty flavor. a bit of acidity with the berry. the only part of the beer that doesn't quite do it for me is the aftertaste, which is flat-flavored and dull.
overall a nice dessert beer, sipping beer, or something that would be wondeful served with some turkey or pork and cranberry.
