Not bad!!! I enjoyed one while eating snacks on New Year's eve. Poured into a flute glass, this beer is well carbonated and produces a medium sized fizzy off-white head. Head retention was less than average and not much lacing. The reddish/amber color and all the bubbles were nice.

Aroma is raspberries up front and a malty beer that cuts the sweetness.

Taste is similar. Fresh raspberries, not just sweet raspberry syrup. The malty beer part emerges after the initial sip. It cuts the sweetness, not as dramatically as some of the sours that feature fruit, but still provides a nice contrast to the fruitiness.

Mouthfeel is light with good carbonation. Enjoyable, a light beer for the cooler weather

12 oz bottle into tulip

Appearance - A really delightful, bright ruby/brown color. One finger off-white head leaves a wispy cap and a touch of lacing.

Smell - Sweet and sour fruity berries backed up with malty toastiness and raw cocoa. Some floral/perfumey notes jump out too.

Taste - Up-front fruitiness definitely presents itself with signature sweet/tart, juicy raspberry, then wastes no time leaning on a lightly toasted malt body complete with nuances of earthy cocoa and coffee. Ghost notes of spicy, well integrated alcohol. Finish dries up very impressively; suggestions of berry and toasted bread remain.

Feel - Medium/light bodied feel and fairly well carbonated, but strangely feels a touch watery on the end. I sense they were trying to make this beer feel lighter than it probably should given the ABV, somehow; still, drinkability is really high.

Overall - A surprisingly tasty beer, which may seem like a gimmick at first, but make no mistake, this beer is extremely refined, well-crafted, and dangerously drinkable at its ABV. An outstanding offering that just feels right on a cold winters night.

This is supposed to be a brown ale? Very fruity sweet, overall not a bad tasting beer for whatever it is they were going for

Served on tap into a fluted pint glass. The tenth beer of my 2014 twelve beers of Christmas.

A- Poured a clear dark ruby red color with off-white soapy head that dissipated instantly and left no lace.

S- Tart raspberry, light chocolate and cereal notes.

T- Big raspberry notes that are slightly tart, some cereal malt notes, and light cocoa chocolate notes.

M- Medium body, watery finish, and low carbonation.

O- The raspberry flavor is pleasant and slightly tart. There is not much complexity and the body is pretty weak.

Light raspberry red mixes with a light brown color and yields a relatively weak body. The nose is mostly fruity, raspberry, with an organic flowery aroma.

The flavor starts with a fruity raspberry and follows with a dry chocolate malt. There is a bit of coffee, barley malt and grain.

It's an enjoyable fruit beer with a light thin face.

On tap at Spokeasy Public House

A: Pours brownish red amber with a light tan head that disappears.

S: Tart raspberry, a bit earthy, with a touch of chocolate.

T: tart raspberry dominates, some bittersweet chocolate notes, and a little roasted malt.

M: On the lighter side of medium body, moderate carbonation, very drinkable.

O: Not much left to remind you of a brown ale, raspberry really takes over, but I'm not complaining. I could drink this all day.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.

Deep ruby red, with a frothy creamy pink four finger head with a thick rich appearance. Body color gives to some minor carbonation and deep red chestnut with some brown hues. Neat looking brew.

Fruity nose and a soft raspberry aroma. Slight cream and malt thickness match nicely, with just a tiny bit of toast sticking out. Mild sense of chocolate but really buried, but has a good thick, not horribly sweet, and solid fruit angle.

Real nice simple palate. Mild raspberry with small milky notes of vanilla. Cream angle doesn't get too thick, but a sweetness works it's way out nicely. Raspberry finish and milky front almost with minimal like lactose quality.

Real nice mellow fruit beer. Nothing fancy, just real simple, drinkable and flavorful.
