It pours a dark amber-tinged brown with a thin off-white head on top. Aromas of cloves, hops, malt and cut hay fades away slowly. A smell over-ripe bananas and rum take over where the others fade. The medium biscuity malt body houses flavors of toffee, candy sugar, hint bananas and tobacco. The hops are mainly of the peppery variety with a bit of citrusy and orange zest. A light medicinal astringency peeks through as it warms. The fine effervescence lasts. All in all, a pretty decent forgery of the style.
