Abbey Belgian Style Ale
New Belgium Brewing, Colorado
---from bottle to chalice---
Nice reddish/brown copper, three fingers of off white head, decent lacing. Pours beautifully.
Bananas, peppery, sweet bread, a touch of alcohol runs through – but not to its detriment.
Bananas come through, spicey clove, bready. Warming alcohol, which again, is not a bad thing with this beer.
Medium body, well carbonated, very drinkable, chewy vanilla malt comes out toward end of beer. Finishes dry.
Great beer. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this beer. Vast array of flavors and aromas make this beer fascinating; presence of alcohol is alluring… this beer evolves as you drink it.
