Pours nice rich copper into a tulip. Nice delicate lacing adorns the side of the glass. Nice and clear, no haze at all. Very appealing to the eye.
Smell is rich, caramel, clove, slightly floral, earthy all at once.
First sip is full of rich biscuity malt, clove, with just a hint of banana. There's some very slight alcohol warmth in this first pull.
Very peppery effervescence, refreshing, palate cleansing bubbles in the mouthfeel.
Very solid beer from New Belgium. There are some very intriguing notes to it that keep me going back to the glass sip after sip. Its very complex for a dubbel, most enjoyable.
