Appearance is red ruby with a good head and great lacing.
Nose is a wonderful blend of banana, yeast, malt, and fresh grapes.
Taste is more like a mellow Belgian Strong Dark than a Dubbel. The malt is rich and the yeast has some spice. There are notes of cherry and red wine. There is plenty of sweetness, and some citrus, with a nice biscuit finish.
Mouthfeel has plenty of carbonation with some oil slickness. There is plenty of drinkability, and just a bit of alcohol for balance.
Overall, this is an excellent example of an Americanized Belgian: traditional flavors with excellent drinkability.
