Appearance: Pours a translucent amber with a thin, fizzy head.
Smell: Big, fruity aromas. Raisins, dates and some hints of vanilla.
Taste: Follows the smell, very fruity but not overly sweet. Some grape flavors behind the darker fruits with some spicy notes.
Mouthfeel: More carbonated than I expected, with a very dry finish.
Drinkability: Very light-bodied for the style and hides the alcohol well. The main detractor here would be the high carbonation.
Very pleasant brew from New Belgium and the first one of theirs that I've had the opportunity to try. Thanks to Matt Maples at LiquidSolutions.biz for the delicious brew! If you can find this brew, I would highly recommend it.
