Dark copper look with light cream head. Malty aroma with light carbonation. It nice malty taste with hints of banana and a sweet but bitter finish.

Tastes almost exactly like my homebrew from a "belgian strong ale" kit

Sampling right now on 3/16/15. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured in to a vintage 10 ounce pilsner glass.

Brew pours a dark amber in color with close to a 1-finger off-white head. A decent amount of lacing is seen when sipped. The aroma is of spices and burnt brown sugar. Pretty much is said for the taste as with a hint of bready yeast with a light hint of floral hops also. Actually very smooth to drink with no bitter or hoppy finish. Medium-bodied with perfect carbonation. Overall, Fat Tire did a great job on this brew style.

Poured from bottle into nonic pint glass...

L: A very attractive, transparent and light caramel-brown hue, with a sticky two-finger head.

S: A unique aroma with notes of burnt brown sugar, baking spices, some floral undertones (like a flower shop!), and lingering breadiness. Beautifully balanced.

T: Like the aroma, nice and complex -- the malt provides a warming, sweet booziness, and there's a spicy combo of pepper, cinnamon, and cloves. However, what's most surprising is the presence of the floral notes, like some kind of lingering lavender perfume. It's a taste that's admirable, yet it's not grabbing me.

F: A little thin, like a flat cola. There's a moderate amount of carbonation but the mouthfeel doesn't offer anything invigorating. Just fine.

O: I respect this beer more than I love it. There's a unique grab-bag of flavors and aromas here, but I think maybe the floral, perfume-like characteristics are a TAD too prominent. Overall though, a good, classy brew.

An amazing American version of a Belgium beer. There is SO much that this beer gets right. The beer pours beautifully with at least a two finger head, it has a beautiful shade of redish brown liquid, and it has a GREAT mouth feel (it isn't watered down). It feels like an authentic Belgium beer (that costs about $6+ a bottle). This beer is priced perfectly, wow, so much bang for the buck! I can get it for $1.50 a bottle. It has 7% abv too! The alcohol is masked: you can feel the warmth of it but not really a taste of alcohol.

The taste is of malt, banana, bubble gum (you can taste it when you burp :-D ), pepper, and yeast.

This is one of the best bang for your buck beers in America. I'm in love with this stuff.
