This beer pours a very dark brownish-red that is nearly black. It has a nice light brown head that dissipates fairly rapidly. The smell consists of roasty malt with a hint of sweet spice. The taste is mostly a smooth roasted malt with a slight raisin type flavor with just a small amount chocolate and tapers to slight hops towards the end of each swallow. The mouthfeel is just right in this medium-bodied beer.
If there's ever a session beer from the belgian-style beers, this one will work! Cheers!
